how does the sizing on these ll bean bluchers run? I wear a 10.5 in vans authentics and 9.5 in chuck taylors. I am thinking of either getting the bluchers in a 10 or 9.5. Thanks http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/11575...tn&cat4=502761 http://cdni.llbean.com/is/image/wim/...id=330&hei=295

I want to say that this has been answered before....but I'll take a stab at it...unfortunately, I think it really depends. I have seen it done well, and then again some times not so well. I think if you have dark denim and no wider than a straight leg (probably better with a more tapered leg) then it can work.

I want to start acquiring some casual staple pieces that are well constructed, fairly slim fitting, comfortable, relatively easy to care for, and that will both last a long time and age well. I've started looking into RRL and have been reading that thread. What other brands could I be looking at, or what else should I be looking for? I'd like to start with one nice heavy zip hooded sweatshirt, 2-3 medium or heavy-weight button down shirts with collar (not tuck-in shirts), and one summer / fall jacket appropriate for the city and for the weather in the bay area of california

Recommendations for specific pieces or brands will help me get my foot in the door. But I'd especially appreciate general advice that could help inform my own research and shopping to help me put together a basic game plan. I'm in my 30's and except on rare occasions I no longer have to dress up for work. I'd like to avoid looks that sharply tend toward workwear, by which I mean (or at least I think i mean) that I'm not so inclined toward plaid shirts (like I often see with Iron Heart) or heavily 'western' looks (I'm not yet sure what I think of RRL top fits but I've only seen a few and some of them, actually, I do like). I sweat heavily no matter what the weather, so I tend to layer, to avoid tight fits under my arms, and to gravitate towards either wool fabrics or darker colors (which don't show moisture as prominently). I may start trolling the WAYWT threads for ideas, so recommendations of specific members to look for there, or of fits posted, could also be a good starting point.

I don't mind acquiring the right stuff slowly, over time, so let's assume $$ isn't an object.

Thanks! -Trapp

hi guys, I'm looking for a light brown dress shoe to go with my gray suit

I am a big fan of Common Projects and their simple but real clean styling. Unfortunately I can't find any brown CP dress shoes for sale, are there any other brands similar and can you please provide some online stores?

Thank you

(sorry for thread post, i didn't see this thread earlier)

Thanks, I'll check those out. I just looked at the W&H offerings at Farinelli's and that's in line with what I'm looking for. They're having a sale right now and most stuff is sold out, but it puts me on track for the future.

Speaking of W&H, does anyone know where in the Bay Area I could try on their service boots?

Hi guys I have black raws a.p.c., but really dunno what the model it is/ They dont say that it is "new standart", but the measurements are like measurements of new standarts(on the web-site apc.fr). They say only "rue de fleurus paris", no model name marked. Now they fit me well. But..I measured them recently and true waist size is about 38''!!! (tagged size 34).. wtf? Are they streched so hard from 34 to 38??? And now I want to order new standart indigo. What the size do you guys thunk I should order? Black raws a liitle bit slimmer than indigo ones - maybe should i order 33 in indigo? Tnhx!

It doesn't say "New Standart"? Gosh my New Standarts didn't say that either! Must be a defective line.

id ask this in mens clothing, but they seem to generally be more "traditional" thinking... how appropriate would it be to wear a light grey suit to an evening summer wedding banquet. it will be indoors around 7pm (usually gets dark around 830 around here in the summer)

If light grey is what you have to work with, you'll be fine and I wouldn't sweat it.

If you have options, a medium/darker greys will look better at that hour of the evening.

What sorts of socks does one wear with white sneakers? I'm considering ordering a pair of CPs, but have not owned white sneakers in my adult life and don't know how to pull it off sockwise.

APC are vanity sized, so they're 2" bigger than their tagged size. Some people also account for another inch or two of stretch at the waist. (I'm a 30 but I bought 27 NS's)

From what I've read, blacks stretch less than the indigo, but only minorly so, so i'm not sure it warrants a full tag size.
