So basically you're saying they have no place in any kind of wardrobe.

Yeah the style is dated. It's not a major fashion crime though, especially if you don' t do the top button up. Also you get a pass if you're tall.

That's from the classic menswear perspective. There are some modern designers doing non-traditional stuff who play with 3 or even more buttons but the aesthetic is quite different.

Hey, been a member awhile, but never really posted much. I suck at buying shoes really hard, nearly everything I buy I send back and hate except Sperry boat shoes because I live on the beach.

I really wanted a nice pair of wingtips because I like their classic look and it's a bit fancier than my normal use. I couldn't really find what I wanted, ended up suckered into a sale, and dislike the pair I bought. I got these:

Which, I am aware, are ugly. I guess I just can't find a good pair that really resemble pictures I see. I wonder if its because the ones I see are aged and all wingtips look better with some age/sun/leather aged? I really wanted a nice pair like these:

I realize the good names, I am not exactly in the best position to spend that money, I am looking around $200. Could anyone point me in right direction, or give me some information about wingtips that maybe I'm missing? Should I not even bother with another brand unless it's one the more expensive Edmonds type?

You could look for AE seconds as well.

I bought a Small TOJ winter varsity of eBay a few months ago that is too big on me in the midsection.  The body is made of fairly thick wool.  If I wanted to get it taken in, is it an easy job that any tailor could do, or should I look to pay a premium because the job is easy to screw up?

Anyone remember the name of the new denim shop in SF, the one that does a few pairs at a time if and only if the style gets funded before production?
There model is small batch affordable jeans/menswear.
They had a Kickstarter and a thread on here, they just reopened their website at the beginning of the month.

Thx

SNS Stark cardigan for $70?
Has been tossed in the dryer and shows effects of wool pilling.

Still worth it?
