I mean, browsing through denim blogs I'm finding that I like the before photos of Naked & Famous jeans a lot more than the after. If they have to fade, I'd prefer that they do so over a long, long period -- like forever. Right now I'm loving the washes of Levi 513s that I have -- though pretty often I feel like they will rip on me -- so I would like to get the same colorways probably, and washes like a few of N&F's more awesome colorways, in the weight, or even heavier, of my Uniqlo of MiJs. Is this a weird viewpoint, or has something like this ever been discussed?

Just wash them before you wear them and more often than raw jeans; when they do fade from washing it'll be pretty even.

I recently looked into no show socks.  It seems that Journeys no show footies are one of the cheapest options.  link

But it's not such a good value if you order them online and eat the shipping.

There's a brand called ninja sox that gets some love on SF.  See this thread.

I'm currently waiting for them to go on sale again, since they were 40-50% off twice within the past 3-4 months. link

I also found a few positive comments for the Payless no show dexter sock. link

No experience with any of these products.  Just forwarding my research.  I ignored more expensive suggestions, so there might be a reputedly superior sock that I glossed over.  Ninja sox sounded pretty good in that thread and seem to be a good value when on sale so I'll be trying them first.

Good luck.

Hi everyone. I'm new here (even though I've been lurking for weeks). So today after class I headed over to J Crew to try on a blazer which I believe was the Wool Ludlow one in 38R. Construction and quality seemed fine to me; collar, chest, shoulders, arms, etc. all fitted very nicely. I just had some apprehension about the length of the blazer: is it too long? According to J Crew size chart I should precisely wear a 38R, but I had no idea. Any thought on this?

Please excuse the jeans and the sneakers. I was coming back from class.

Obenaufs on "split leather" (is this suede?).  MoMa boots if it matters.  Y/N?  If not, what should I use for moderate snow/winter protection?

Riddle me this: if they're no show socks, why do they make them in different colours?

Uniqlo don't have any on their site at the moment, but not sure if they have any in their London store. What is the quality of those like?

Common people and nigel cabourn.
Uniqlo quality is not bad for the price but overall mid range at best.

I would assume that you would size up from your denim size because the corduroy won't stretch as much, but I'd love a definitive answer.

Yes and yes.

I'm looking to buy a few pairs of comfortable and stylish pants for work here in the business school. Most of my shirts are button up, many of those button-down.

Linen, or linen/cotton blends if you're worried about wrinkles. Some good options from Bastian and Rugger. Look at Epaulet too.

Too long. Go for the 38S.

Split can be suede if it's brushed. You're better off with a silicone-free spray (e.g. http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/producti_SF644_1_40000000001_-1 ). Any kind of treatment is going to change the color and feel of suede, but a spray less so.

Thanks canstyleace. I've had a look and they don't seem to do the kind I was looking for...

I was looking for something like this;
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I've spoken to Lel, whose WAYWT that is^ and its Thick as Thieves made to measure. I was looking for something similar available in the UK. Any ideas?

@Pig Farmer:  I just saw this post and wanted to give back to you (and the rest of the SF community).  Here's a limited time coupon for 30% off for SF members: SFPROMO30

I've been getting a lot of love on SF and I appreciate this community and want to show my appreciation.  If you like the brand and the product, please feel free to share with family and friends.

Thanks!

Got it,,,, you're looking for more of a true suit jacket, well not sure if you're aware but TaT delivers worldwide so might be worth getting the full suit.
Also check out some webshops that deliver to uk for others brands/options (oki-ni, ssense, ln-cc, au revoir et merci, yoox, etc.)

You look like you might even fit in a 36.

Hello everyone,

Usually I only lurk on SF, but I have a question. After trying many different shirts, I have not found a definitive, well-rounded
t shirt that can be worn regularly, made well, and in tasteful colors.

I have looked at everything from James Perse to Calvin Klein and American Apparel, but they are all slightly off in either
fit, construction, or lack of colors. So I was wondering what the experienced people turn to in this situation.
