Bump :)

are these converse slim suitable for a 27 y/o's wardrobe?]

http://www.schuh.co.uk/mens-white-converse-slim-mono-ox/3401961070

As i mainly wear dark brown boat shoes for casual wear with jeans/chinos, casual shirts/sweaters, i want to get some footwear to replace my Adidas Stan Smith trainers - a classic plain white shoe

So was wondering what people think of the above converse slim trainers, for weekend/daytime casual wear (shops, cinema, restaurant, town shopping , friends, etc)  with denim jeans, chinos, cargos, and sweatpants,

they look quite versatile so could they be worn with a casual shirt, sweater/cardigan as well as a t-shirt & jacket?

- i just need a casual white shoe but not too sporty like trainers/sneakers are

also do they were a size big? e.g. im a size UK 8, so is size UK 9 more suitable?

thanks

Looking to pick up a pair of Margiela side zip boots in black, size 43. Nothing seems to be coming up on the B+S forum here.

Any ideas on places that might be good to look around for these? Hoping not to pay too much over £300 ($480)

You can't show up to a restaurant in those and they don't work with sweatpants, you shouldn't be wearing sweatpants outside of your home and the gym any way, I would get some nice logo free sneakers instead.

What do you guys do with the soles of your MMM side-zips? I love the feel of the leather soles but feel like I should get at least a thin rubber sole applied. Will it ruin the awesome slim feel of the sole? My friend is recommending I scotch guard the leather (for water I guess?)...is that a good/bad idea? or maybe just leather polish?

Thanks!

get a cobbler to put a topy on, some call it a "sole saver"
will not ruin the slimness

newbie here. any thread in particular which compares prada, hogan, tod's, dior, etc. sneakers?

been trying to find related threads, probably similar to the sneakers with the $300 minimum.

thanks.

^Just go to the thread you mentioned, it's your best bet. You're not going to find a thread explicitly comparing those brands.

thanks.  most of those in the baller threads are too loud for me, was hoping to find alternative but comparable brands to those mentioned.

I think you'll be out of luck. Not many people on sf have the shoes you mentioned, some may have diors but that is about it. But ya the baller sneaker thread would be your best bet

Probably just plain Margiela GATs and Common Projects.
