Hi just got Alden Indy boots.  Traditional problem: the tongue slides to the outside of my foot, exposing my socks.  Can I do the stitchwork to tack the tongue to the boot myself?  Do I need a special type of thread?  Will I need a spciat needle to make it thru the leather?  How long should the stitch be?
 

I think I read about this in the Alden thread. Someone had a cobbler do it and may be able to provide more details.

Obscur sizing varies a lot from what I've seen, best thing to do is just get measurements for each piece.

Can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative to this?

So I just bought a black MDR from TOJ. I can't wait for it to come. But I just realized that I only have brown RW gentlemen travelers. Do these go together or should I get a pair of black boots?

Never wear those boots with that jacket. Please just don't. Are you sure the MDR was the right choice? It's a fantastic jacket, but have you considered an A2 which may fit your wardrobe better (I'm speculating of course)? Alternatively, rock the shit out of the MDR, but you will want different shoes.

anyone know any nice leather jackets (specifically or brands) under $300? I'm looking for something simple without 10 pockets and weird flaps everywhere. Also not really into double rider jackets (dont think I could pull it off)

assuming you know that for 300 $ it's pretty much impossible to get a leather-jacket with substantial and nice leather?
if your current budget is 300 $, save upp another 200-300 $ and get some toj off B&S, it'll definitely be worth it in the long run

I am considering to use Ebay for selling and not only buying, but i am uncertain about the fees they take for listing and actually selling. Also how much a "buy-now" cost, or to set a reservation price?

Lets say i will sell my jeans for 100$, does anyone know the different % fees of listing and if i make a sale? And does the % fees change if i want to sell something over a certain limit, lets say 400$?

Other experience/advice are obviously also welcome
