I had just notice the same thing. I left a comment under the thumb about 20 minutes ago....now its not working.

Not that I mind, actually. I preferred the in-line commentary over having to go back and look for thumbs comments. So, if it's intentional, then, er, thumbs up from me.

I have spent literal hours on my iPhone trying to unlock a single thumb comment, only finally to discover it says something equivalent to You Suck....

Because not all short comments warrant another post that takes up so much real estate.

Part one of your post, agree wholeheartedly. Apparently, for some people, scrolling is a very difficult and intrusive chore.

Part two of your post, that is the exact type of comment, that is just made it forth a thumb comment to go along with it.

On threads like WAYWT, I want to see mostly fits, not one fit and 15 one liners. Occasionally a fit will produce some in-depth discussion- this belongs in posts. Brief comments don't need more than a thumb.

mods - serious question.

were the thumb comments disabled because some people were using them for derogatory and snide commentary, sometimes even downright mean and nasty? is this another example of why we cant have nice things?
