How to post a gif? I'm getting an error message when I use the image function.

Weird question - not sure if I'm the only lucky one...

But I went to my PM inbox yesterday and I have 149 pages with 50 pm's per page - so 7,450 pm's - every pm I have ever sent since I joined - is that odd? Can they be bulk deleted or do I have to go page by page?

Also, I used to have my threads come up with newest posts first - and now with the new system it goes newest posts last - any way to change that back?
Cheers!

I've been asking this as well since I had the same thing happen with my thread subscriptions.

I just checked this and saw the same. I was tempted to respond to some of those really really old PM's but am kind of afraid what responses I'll get in return.

Space issues. Back in the old days, we had an upper limit of 500 PM's - including received AND sent, if you opted to keep copies of your sent PM's

Two requests:

1. Can you please reduce the spacing between quotes and subsequent text? Too much unnecessary deadspace that results in excessive scrolling.

2. A "My Posts" button with the same functionality as the old one would be really appreciated. My old posting routine consisted of clicking on new posts and my posts. It made it really easy to catch new threads and to stay current on ones I was participating in.

Agree with 1, but 2 exists.

Click subscriptions and then click threads (instead of activity) at the top. This looks pretty much like what I remember the "Threads I Have Posted In" function used to look like (I later switched to using User CP and having it subscribe to any thread I posted in...which gave me the option to later unsubscribe if I didn't care anymore which My Posts did not offer)

I can't seem to get the results to populate in the order that I posted them in. Rather, they descend by the thread with the most recent activity. I don't really like that.

i know that. i tried to keep all of them, i was at 490ish when this new awesome pm system arrived. i mean now that we have so much space why would anyone delete them??

Ok, here's a new one for the mods:

I've got the Fragrance Split thread going but its in the archive now. The thread was started by me but several other people are hosting splits in there. Nobody can seem to leave feedback for either me or the other people in the thread. This is what happened when Whodini went to leave feedback for Baron who just hosted a split:

500

How can we fix this? Do I have to restart the thread in the new FS:Other? Can only the OP of the thread get feedback?

Just wanted to mention that the new system is really growing on me, especially the PM system and the b&s. I'm getting used to the visual differences but I'm also thinking that will be refined over time. Good job, guys.

edit: now that I see my post - what is "Dubiously Honored?"

edit - on another positive note, the ability to create an avatar without size constraints is just awesome.

one more edit - Was stinsonbass the first ban of the new system? He just posted something 20m ago and now it says banned. What happened there?

The stimsonbass thing was an accident and the banned badge will stick for a while apparently. It should be normal by tomorrow.

Hey J and other mods - I do have some more comments on the new site, layout, etc. but there are like 5 places I could conceivably put them. Is there a preferred thread or other method for me to post my thoughts and issues?

Thanks.

Somewhere in the 'new forum support' forum, whichever thread seems most relevant I suppose. Thanks for the input!

I haven't heard of problems with the caching pages. You may want to submit a bug report: http://www.styleforum.net/feedback

We are. I'm not sure whether an established member's post will be spaminated if flagged, but it should be quickly reinstated(validated) and the hall monitor in question would be in trouble and potentially lose his sash and clipboard.

Yeah, that would seem odd. I haven't looked to see if they can be bulk deleted, but you don't need to since there is unlimited PM space now. If it is important to you, let me know.

I'm not sure where you are getting newest posts last view, but I haven't seen this. Can you paste a link? There are a lot of ways to view thread lists now and until we all get used to them, it is going to be a little confusing.

I will try to find out for you.

1. I will see about doing that. It appears the spacing is in the editor, and I am currently deleting a lot of space after quotes before replying to see whether that cuts it down. (Yep, it does.) Hopefully people will start doing that but I will ask if we can get some of that extra space that is inserted, removed by default.

2. I have asked for this and it should be up pretty soon.

I will ask for more clarification on how this works, but my guess is that feedback will only work between the OP and the buyer.

Thanks for the comments, even the negative ones - keep them coming. Obviously we couldn't find every issue before launch and we needed to get off the old system and started on this one at some point, so there will be issues. But please rest assured we and the rest of the team are committed to fixing up the platform to get it working as best we can.

Any chance of a red 'thumbs down' option? Would save a ton of bandwidth. Please, consider the haters.
