Oh Harold falcon, where art thou? You can't just abandon us in times of spam war.
Anyway, hope your issues work out as well as possible. PM me or something if you feel like it.

Why is in stitches seemingly having post number competition.  it just upsets the universal balance. :fu:

i'm not joking, it just feels weird when i see him at 2 or 3.  guess i'm used to  the status quo.

lol, you're 3 years too late to this debate. The matter is long settled.

I must've banned 30 users and deleted 300 posts (really, threads) in the past couple days. For a while on Sat afternoon I just hung out and banned about a dozen, right after they registered and before they'd had a chance to post. (I get an immediate pm for each newly registered user.)

Yes, thanks. Must be such an onerous task.

Good guy spammer pairs his spam with news.

any insight as to what caused the Fascinating World of Inkjet Printing thread to be removed?

Rather than derail WAYWRN, let's discuss here SirJamesWinston's post and Clags' moderation of it. I'll go first:

I generally trust Clags' judgment, but I think it would be good process for hall monitors to quote in this thread any non-spam posts they've hidden from a thread. That would allow those concerned to weigh in on the offensiveness of the posts.

Agreed. I actually intended to, and had copied the quoted text. But then I copied the TransMod url to recommend SJW complain if he wanted to. And there went the quoted text. Fortunately, the moderation team should still be able to see it and weigh in.

I'd rather see something done about the fucking spam.

suggestion.... let's add a box that says remove this user account as spam or something like that. I've got the hall monitor status but when a spammer/bot is on a roll and they're got like 10+ posts, there's no way I'm going to mark them all. So how about a button/option somewhere that says hide this ACCOUNT and hold for moderator review or something. Where/how I don't know. Maybe under 'block this user', or in the popup for report spam in the pull down tab, etc...

that way I can just have a one click button that removes all that users posts and blocks them from future posting until mods let them. Obv this option is given to trusted people like mods and wannabe mods like hall monitors so it doesn't get used on regular members.

Yeah, HMs should get the ability to hide whole accounts. As a "precaution", maybe limit it to new acocunts.

+1

Came here to post about that

Why was the thread removed and the OP banned?

The user name suggests that the account may have been a sock, so that's my guess.
