Eh, why? Why not? I mean its not like you've got anything else to do. Why can't you go in, zap a few spammer posts, and then hit the road? Can we get this man some zapping powers in all the subforums? I think its a pretty safe bet he's not going to change all of Stitches pics into pictures of the Elmo kiddie toucher.

Mods and hall monitors are not the same. I don't think it's the mods job to deal with the spam, that's why they made all the monitors. I think the mods are more there to make sure that the regular posters behave and act within the rules. I think it is working out alright.

Elmo's a douche, anyway. LowerCaseG has declared our home a Cookie Monster house.

Seriously, though, I'm always willing to offer my services if the higher-ups need it. I enjoy being a mod, and I wouldn't mind doing more if it would improve teh SF.

Yes and no. We can delete the spam entirely, and some can block/ban spammers.

Either way, as I mentioned above. If the big guys think I can help, I'm in.

Mobile is awesome! I got rid of tapatalk. I hated it, personally:

What you describe used to be the case (whether using HTML or BBCode to link to the pic source), but this seems to have changed recently.
Now - if you forget to unclick the Import Images box below the reply box - if you use the IMG tags a dialog pops up asking you to accept the SF policy on importing images (if you click cancel the post doesn't submit at all) and if you use HTML, it automatically imports the image without even the prompting dialog box. I suppose at least the dialog box when you use IMG tags forces you to remember to uncheck the Import Images box, so I'm very grateful to you for pointing out this workaround.
Still, I would prefer it if I could just change the default setting for the Import Images function to unchecked, through a general preferences setting.
(for reference, I'm using Win7 & FF17.0. I'm also running some other extensions on the site to modify its appearance and layout, but I don't think any of those can be interefering with this particular functionality. I noticed the change after upgrading to FF17.0, if that helps, but that might just be coincidence.).

Checking right now with FF 16.2 on Win7.

Yesterday I didn't have this problem (FF16.1 if that matters), but now it seems you're right.

I had occasion to experience some exploding diarrhea earlier today, and as I waited for the aftershocks to subside I went to Styleforum mobile, and found the mobile site so awesome that I was able to push aside the horrors from moments earlier. And, no, pictures are not forthcoming.

The key here is that mod powers are sub-forum specific. I have mod rights in DT, but not any other sub-forum. LA Guy and j, and I think MTM have universal powers, but after that I believe the rest of us are just normal users outside of our defined mod areas.
