My first post... Job-seeking outfit

I'm sorry about the poor lighting/graininess; my main flash is currently broken, so I had to make do with a smaller one

Shirt - Blue/white micro-stripe pattern, from Target

Jacket - Vintage "Stanley Blacker for Lord & Taylor" navy blazer, thrifted

Tie - J.Press burgundy grenadine skinny tie, thrifted [It was tied much straighter during the day]

Pants - Black stretch 511s, thrifted

Shoes - Lloyd & Haig wingtips, thrifted

700

are those black skinny stretch jeans with a SC/shirt & tie? Let me guess... you didn't get the job.

Seriously though get some proper trousers and a well-fitting shirt with longer sleeves. The SC and shoes look ok from this pic... if you straighten up a non-skinny tie (too narrow for those lapels) and lose the bar you'll be much more presentable. try lurking more as you're a bit out of whack with this fit. Welcome to SF!

Some quick points, from top to bottom:
The navy blazer with gold-colored buttons is a classic piece, but the only other thing in your fit that really works with it is possibly the shoes
The shirt-sleeves look way too short but otherwise the shirt is pretty inoffensive, needs a suit though
Can't see much of the tie, but the knot looks sloppy and like nickels said it's way too slim for those lapels
I really only like tie-bars when you're wearing a full suit
Pants are like the shirt, inoffensive but doesn't work very well with anything else
Shoes are the best piece in the fit, but everything else is pretty meh which brings them down

Thanks so much, it's great to have people who give constructive criticism. I'm so used to, as a high school student, being constantly complimented and told that fits look great, even though they obviously don't. Is there way that I could make dark jeans (either the black 511s or my raw 501s) work with the blazer, or should I just get a pair of traditional grey trousers?

If you're in high school it probably doesn't matter what you wear to an interview, as long as you look like you put in some effort. Like 10 minutes into a 2.5 hour grad school interview marathon I realized there was dried vomit on my shoe, and that turned out fine. YMMV.

Also that's a cool cardigan lmao. Doesn't someone else here have the same one? Teger maybe?
