lol thanks. i'm starting to get into nicer shirts. my wardrobe consists mainly of uniqlo and lands end canvas. they've done fine for me but i'm starting to look into gitman bros and brooks brothers. i also wouldn't mind some better quality tees. looking at sunspel, folk, left field, velva sheen.

You don't have that many posts so I'm assuming you haven't been here that long?
I would advice against getting more expensive and nicer shirts until you've been here for a while, if you already have an alright base consisting of for example uniqlo (plenty of people here wear uniqlo). Reason why is that it's not unlikely that the direction of style you originally were planning to head in may very well change, especially if you keep following this thread. Just a small tip that may help you save money and not make purchases you may regret later on.
(nice tees are a solid "investment" though, since well they work with most aestethics)

everyhing good except the shirt - burn it

Shirt is fine. You're only saying that because it's Old Navy. If he had put "Gitman Vintage," no one would bat an eye.

this is really solid advice.

you're correct in assuming i'm new to styleforum. i've been interested in fashion for a few years though, and am somewhat active on the malefashionadvice subreddit. especially over the last year or so i've consolidated and honed in on an aesthetic i like, i'm pretty comfortable with the direction i'm heading.

i'm not knocking uniqlo or the other brands i mentioned, they've held up well and i would recommend them to any beginner, but i wouldn't mind seeing what else is out there. i just feel like i'm at a point where i wouldn't mind experimenting with nicer products. see for myself if the quality, construction, materials are noticably better.
