Also, can one of you bored people update the Best of WAYWT? I know there's someone out there who's read through the thread and is dying to make use of themselves!

aside from the aforementioned swag, what i thought was so great about it was twofold.

1. it simply looked really good.

2. everything about it was in synch. there was no piece that was thrown in that didnt really belong. often, and i see this on both sides of the wall, and its something i am guilty of myself, is taking a fit that is really good, though simple, and adding in a piece to "spice it up," or adding an item that you really like, and it may be a great item, but actually takes away from the fit. pope avoided all that. the execution was spot on.

for those reasons, i declare popes fit to be awesomeness.

I'll only visit nanbangz once I've acquired some devoa

on that devoa note... my package from zekka arrived today and only reaffirmed my love affair with the brand. everything fits so perfectly. the best part is, despite being incredibly slim, you have full range of motion because of its construction. incredible fabric and incredible construction. it's really hard to beat that.

c'mon, now you have to snap a pic. i still have a love/hate relationship with drop crotch. it can look really cool (sup snowman), but if it gets too extreme i don't always like it. and the construction makes a big difference. rick usually does what's essentially a big gusset (you can see the seams running behind the pockets), which creates one shape (and I think most of the SZ-ish brands use some variation on a gusset); damir uses a crescent-shaped seam that runs from the waist down the left leg, with a little triangle insert at the bottom of the crotch; CdG I'm not entirely sure about -- think in a lot of cases it's basically just the regular seam down the middle, but elongated, though I think the really dramatic drops use a gusset. I find that the elongated regular seam makes for the best drape (talked about this with snowman actually). That's how Yohji's drop crotch stuff is made too. The other constructions tend to lead to diaper ass. they can look really cool in motion, like in runway vids, but when you're standing still they sometimes look a bit awkward. anyway, that's my little treatise on the drop crotch while i wait for this dude at work to send me what I need...
