Thanks :) I guess that's why I'm here, to learn

I don't mind the creative recreations. I own a pair and I like them a lot, but the whole effect comes together like something I'd imagine cristiano Ronaldo to wear + hat and moncler jacket. But if that's your thing and your audience and you like it then go ahead. It just is not what sf does.

Bene, don't regress. Let the hate flow from within. devil.gif

Sorry Y3 but I agree. I also don't like the hat at all, especially the way you're wearing it.

Y3kid, the aesthetic you're going for isn't really an aesthetic that's embraced by this forum. That being said the fit you posted is not a good example of that aesthetic.

I know people are going to tear into you and you're going to get defensive and angry until people pile on to you to be even meaner.

Please read this post on the type of fits that gain praise from this thread, lurk to see if you want to participate, and then either stay and learn as a willing participant, or leave, hopefully with an understanding of why the forum is the way it is rather than thinking we're all a bunch of fucking assholes who have terrible ideas about fashion (not that anyone gives a shit whether or not you think that, but for your own edification).

Otherwise, nobody is going to gain anything from this and this thread is going to be a shit show of back and forth.

Edit: looks like you're not getting butthurt but taking it in stride. Good on you!

Yeah, not a great outfit but there is nothing wrong with the Moncler.

Reading, thanks :)

As long as you're going to be positive about it, there's not really anything wrong with the jacket or the jeans, but Moncler and Dolce have very strong associations with the more-money-than-sense attitude to clothing. They can definitely be worn well (both the brands and your specific items), but the archetypal "rich frat vacationer" look you seem to be going for in that pic (aka "I graduated from Abercrombie last fall and this will get SO many 'Likes'") is never stylish, however fashionable it may be in context.

Hermes belts are gaining the same connotations, since everyone has flocked to them in the last few years at the promise of an accessory that tells everybody you're super-rich and isn't "tacky" like that monogrammed LV. Sadly they didn't think it through, because the buckle is even bigger and every bit as ugly as an LV, and the "artisanal hand stitching" or whatever you want to call it on that tiny strip of potentially exotic dead animal skin is more hype than substance. At least the leather isn't monogrammed, but the ubiquity of the belt makes it every bit as obnoxious as whatever it is putatively an upgrade from.

Creative Recreations are fine in and of themselves (I personally hate all the ones with the ugly velcro toe strap), and yours are as inoffensive as any, it's just that if you are going to assemble $500 jeans, a $500 belt, a $1200+ jacket, and whatever the sweater is, it kind of begs for baller sneakers. Your belt should be less important than your shoes.

I don't think jeans are too tight, as long as you are comfortable in them it.

:)

Did you do that just to show off the belt or did you wear it like that all day? Regardless, other people have made some good suggestions and it appears you're taking it in stride. The hat, especially the way you're wearing it, looks like an 8th grader trying to look hip. Jeans are slim, some people think too skinny, I'd say borderline.

You may want to check out hypebeast, they may be more up your alley with regards to how you want to dress.
