Do not be drunk the first time you do this

great fit, shoreman. especially like the jacket.

yeah only after your 3rd or 4th time is it ok to be drunk

you gotta get the hang of how things work first man

do you really want your 1st time to be a fumbling drunken mess

you're gonna have to wake up the next morning and live with that shit for the next few weeks

the shame

I once "buzzed" my friends hair with a kitchen scissor. We were drunk but only 15 years old, so none of us really cared about the outcome. His parents did though lol8[1].gif

Most difficult part to me is blending the top with where the buzz ends on the side. Depends how you do it. I have to use scissors for that part.

Go for it. Just start off by using the bigger number attachment combs (4 or 5), then work your way down until you achieve the shortness you want. I usually just stand in front of my bathroom mirror and use a small hand mirror for the sides and back. When I cut the back of my hair, I just sort of lean up against the sink, with my back facing the larger mirror, and look at my reflection in the smaller mirror I'm holding. Definitely awkward, but since I buzz my entire head, I find it I van get my cutting time down to maybe 20 minutes, mostly because I'll stop to clean out the hair in the clippers, and occasionally oil to the blades.

If you're trying for a Boardwalk Empire type cut, it's probably not too hard. A number 2 attachment comb should give your hair the proper shortness, although a 1 might make it edgier. Keep in mind, though, that there is quite a difference in length between 1 and 2. If you get a clipper with a 1.5 attachment comb, that would probably be ideal. But looking at Michael Pit, his hair looks like it has almost no fading, so if you have straight hair, you could probably do it yourself no problem.

Think I'll try this when I get my hair grown a bit. Want to move the start of the buzz a bit lower. Not going for a fade, so no problems there. I've buzzed my hair before, but that was in the army, so it was all off with a poor clipper, and you could find a couple longer hairs a day later.

First I'll need to buy a clipper and a barber mirror, though.

Art, the only products I've had experience with that might keep that shape + texture for your hair would be either bumble and bumble's surf spray or the texture cream. I think you can order samples off their website.
