Shirt does look to long. Like a dress shirt not meant to be worn out.

the shirt is too long because it's a dress shirt, and too tight in the waist (because again.. dress shirt). it's not.. bad, but if it was shorter and looser it'd look a lot better. for untucked casual shirts you want them to just skim the top of the pockets, and never cover your entire crotch. i also think they should be loose enough that the placket should meet the entire way down -- a good dress shirt will pull in that situation if its untucked.

this may be a matter of preference, or maybe something i will come to change my mind about, but i dont think the shirt is too long in the pic.

either way, a few things.

1. its not a dress shirt, at least not by my standars. i would never wear it with a dress SC, only a casual cotton SC, but that i would not consider to be a dress fit anyways.

2. i dont like when a shirt placket stays together all the way down when untucked. looks droopy to me, i like a little bit of spread. i think it looks cool, or in SWD terms, "interesting."

3. in relation to the sweater i think the shirt length is good, and the fact that i am kind of crouched causes it too hang a little lower (not that i mind, but you should see that even by your standards, its not as long as you see it to be.)

lastly, i have no idea why im arguing about this with you. in essence, i like the fit, you think the shirt is too long, no biggie. only love.

you know what you should try tho stitches? is full on japanese workwear, a la ethandesu. i think it'd look killer. i mean, if you have an extra $5,000 you want to spend on denim...

cool idea, tegs.

it very well may look killer. ethan has great style, and we have a somewhat similar build. i do like japanese workwear, i was asking about IH the other day as a matter of fact. however, as i may have mentioned, im not looking for denim. today was a one time special only.

Wow.

Seeing that picture took me right back to first or second grade when I learned this story in French -- had not thought about that in 20 years.

yea and it'd be expensive to make it work -- you'd have to go whole hog (tehehe kosher), and high end workwear is just as pricey as high end tailored stuff.
