I've posted this over in the sufu hair thread awhile back without anyone addressing it, regarding the no shampoo thing:

Quote:
Myth#5.: If you shampoo less often, your scalp will gradually produce less oil.

No matter how frequently you shampoo, your scalp produces the same amount of oil, says Jeffrey Benabio, MD, a dermatologist at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego. Cutting back on shampooing will have no effect on your sebaceous glands; genetics and hormones determine the amount of oil they produce. But it will cause dirt and oil to accumulate on your scalp and hair follicles, and could cause inflammation and irritation that might stunt hair growth. All experts agree: How often you wash your hair is a personal decision. Use your judgment. Wash your hair with a moisturizing shampoo when you feel you need it, whether that's daily or weekly.

SDS is basically soap. It can help solubilize grease and suspend dirt on cars so that they can be more easily removed the same way it can solubilize grease on your skin to help remove it. That’s what soap does. In fact, if you consult the almight Wikipedia, you’ll find that SDS is usually made from cocunut or palm kernel oil, just as other forms of soap are made from fatty acids from animals. Normally, Mercola would consider that to be natural, except when he doesn’t. That’s because SDS has a nasty, chemical name, making it more conveniently demonized in front of all those devotees of all “natural” lifestyles. If SDS is an evil, vile chemical, then so is soap.

Think it helps to brush your hair regularly if you don't shampoo it to spread the oil around.

But I've gone back to shampooing ~3 times a week. Scalp gets itchy after 5 days or so.

edit- i think the color might be off on my monitor, because they look like light wash blue jeans, but apparently they're grey. I'm just going to pretend they're blue though.

Cheers - they're definitely grey and slightly darker than the photo suggests - I probably upped the contrast too much. Think the tone of an old galvanised nail.

- I don't think the grey jean or the cuff looks great here. I saw a fucking ultra-fly japanese dude today wearing the crazy cameraman and he had just gone all-out: super full chunky wool trousers, big-ass boots, looked great. I don't think the jeans are too slim - I would have felt great wearing that jacket with my APCs - but I do think the color is off, and I think beastly wool trousers would look a lot better. throw on some tricker's, too!

Cheers - I will find a fit that works with these jeans! The boots are Trickers btw smile.gif

agree that grey jeans aren't the best. I too thought they were light wash blue jeans, which I think could be cool.

i want to be like conceptual_4est in 10 years and MOK is 15 years.

Wait until you reach 42 then you'll find you want to look like some of the younger guys biggrin.gif

You know that feeling when you are giving a girl a hug but you're taller than her so your face kind of ends up all in her hair and it's super soft and it smells really good and you're really glad that it doesn't smell like 4 day old hair mixed with sweat and "natural oils"

Really though, the same idea as to why you need to brush your cat/dog's hair.

That sucks. Distressed hair is pretty popular these days.

AFL's fit looks a bit too feminine for me. Must be the combo of short sleeves on the blazer and the slutty tee. Not feeling it completely.
