Moo, I think the main reason the pants don't work is because they're too techy?? What material are they?
On paper, camo and boots looks like a good combo but since its got a techy feel to them it doesn't work.

i think it's the ocbd that's throwing it off, the cardi's pretty trad with a more modern slouchy twist but could maybe meld into the pants+boots look if the right shirt tied it together. Even the same fit with just plain blue jeans might work better and try without tuck. Experimentation points though.
