cool, thanks. my kids want a cat, im still not on board, but it would have to be something that does not shed, or at least as little as possible.

Any short hair breed is good, and Siamese are the best with humans.

You could also get a hairless cat if you hate your kids.

is this an american thing or what? to me that's disgusting to wear shoes in doors and I'd correlate it to trailer trash.

only reason I did for my waywt is because people want to see shoes in pictures.

All cats (bar hairless) will shed to a degree, the hair of paler cats will show up more. Moleskin attracts cat hair like nothing else.

I've found neutered males the easiest going cats. Siamese can be great, but they can be a handful in that they can get bored easily.

If you're a first time cat owner stick to kittens - moggies can be just as much fun as pedigree cats . Older rescue cats can be very affectionate but they can be quite difficult - on the whole the ones I've homed have been okay, but I've had a couple who had been badly traumatised in the past.

Prepare to be woken in the middle of the night, occasionally sulked at, have furniture gouged, crockery smashed and the spot where you want to sit already occupied.
