I will never understand how my father along with what this forum calls "MC" can stand to have their neck constricted like that, I can't go 10 minutes

My grandfather would have shirts made so that they hung low on his neck, dude was ahead of the curve with the slutty BD shirts.

it's really not that uncomfortable when it fits well. Barely notice it after 5 mins.

If your collar fits, once you get to the 15th minute you pretty much don't notice anymore.

I'm not saying he is a douche.. most of the time his fits are okay.. he just brings a douchy element to them..

i do find it uncomfortable to have my top button buttoned and tie all the way up all day. even after 5-15 minutes. i need my shirt neck to be a tad lose to really be comfortable. but i am OCD in the regard, and many others when it comes to personal comfort. most i think would be in the hendrix/shoreman camp.

I don't find it uncomfortable at all if the collar fits. Then again, I've worn suits and ties for the last 17 years so it's just the norm for me.

Soft-ish collar in your correct size really helps.

 

If it's too tight or too stiff, obviously that will be less comfortable. Too loose is bad too, it not only looks like shit but it can cinch up if you're wearing a tie, which is also uncomfortable.
