So...you're only going to purchase the small bottle?

Nah. Smells like leather and fungus and sweat and sand and going unshowered in the high desert and love and heat coming off the ground as the sun goes down and sex under the stars.

I'm wearing ambre russe today; have you tried that one? I smell like a boozy forester.

FW11 - it's the one that I recommended you buy last year instead of the Raf duffle.

I don't catch any desert on cuir d'arabie, maybe a camel ate a saddle and had to get its stomache pumped at the vet. So far in my oud experience I felt like Le Labo's was the most appealing in the "dirty actual sex" category but that's more like you went into the basement of an ancient house and dug up a chest full of old clothes and had sex in them, but only after accidentally spilling an ancient bottle of some un-named liquor.

Speaking of desert, I did try ouarzazate due to your recommendation and it's unbelievable so I guess I like that side of the desert. Ambre Russe sounds really good based on the descriptions, I love boozy and I love forest. I'll add it to my next luckyscent order, thanks!

Dot net.

Synthese if you're looking for something in that lane (but not smelling like old people having sex in a Goodwill doused in booze from the local prison), I'd suggest Dzhari EdT by Phaedon.

Just out of curiosity, how long have you left it on your skin? It really changes after an hour or so. I really didn't like the opening the first few times I wore it, and now I sort of can't get enough of the weirdness. Are you talking about the Oud 27? I haven't tried that one (or any le labo yet, I guess - it is probably almost time for another sample binge!)

Schneider looks good snake, how do you like it compared to the Alpaca?

The fabric isn't as substantial and being unlined it obviously won't keep you as warm, but I do like the cut much better. It's all around much slimmer than the alpaca.

Not too long, though after making that post I dipped a q-tip in my sample and have left it to dry a bit and it's mellowed out to a much more pleasant thing than my initial clinical+puke assessment. The opening's just way too much for me. And yeah, Oud 27, you might like it. It's also got an off-putting "bad smell" intro but to me it's much more of an intriguing bad smell, like when you smell something really weird and kinda bad and then look around to see if anyone's looking and you go smell again, that kinda thing. Drydown smells day-after boozy in a really good way. I've mostly heard bad things about Le Labo so I've only tried Oud 27 and Rose 31 but both seemed pretty solid.
