You have the body to wear very fitted clothes, I think it's a shame that the shirt fits your chest and arms very tightly/nice if you are going for that look, while it is slightly on wide side around your stomach.

GROAN.

Don't like the shirt much to begin with and not at all with this fit.

Are you saying I can't wear a flannel with a trucker jacket?

Mobile is great except for not being able to see how many thumbs something has. Now I don't know if I should like it or not.

i don't care either way about the aesthetic but he's paired everything pretty much perfectly there, even the scarf is the right shade light enough to add contrast without drawing too much attention away as it melts into the darker jacket..
the one thing i really like is how the color scheme and thick rough textures work nicely together for a winter woodsman in the english countryside which clearly has nothing to do with synthèse whatsoever

The conformity is unfortunate but all too common and natural. It would be foolish to think you can avoid being influenced by the number of thumbs something already has. It's kind of made me give up on giving thumbs, at least in this thread.

Yes, I am liking that quite a bit actually (nectar d'or). No vis are the usual lag 16 and glenkinchie 12, but it is time for me to branch out.

Edit: wait I guess you knew that

I think the whole "point" (or not-point, if you will) of Synthèse centers on the very lack of a central aesthetic, or identity. Synthèse was once, in his youth, a bunny-hill punk; subsequently a raw denim enthusiast, pairing Clarks and bd's with other timeless classics; Rick and Damir eventually entered the frame; oh, not to mention Cloak- and ToJ-obsessions; a brief flirtation with Yohji (though perhaps at this point merely caché); and one can also retrieve elements of "English gentleman." We've seen a lot, and it is never consistent, never fixed.

Which brings me to the very irony of this creature we find in our midst: there really is no "Synthèse"; there is no resolution. He is an infinite dialectic—a nomad of aesthetics, indiscriminately flipping the pages of the calendar as his boots touch upon new ground. It's a joke; we've been had. This is just the repetitious looping between between thèse and antithèse, no resolution.

Pretension to restrict its movement is always already undercut by PENISSSSSSS

well when i mentioned "winter woodsman in the english countryside which clearly has nothing to do with synthèse whatsoever" i meant it had everything to do with him as he's in the english countryside and i know for a fact he chops his own wood ...

FFS, so much backlash, perhaps my comment was too strong, but I feel that the recent abundance of lumberjack shirts and trucker jackets makes this look very middle of the road hipster, even though in much nicer fabrics.

thewho13, what kind of wool is that sweater?
Well, it's a small, and I'm 6'1" with a 35" sleeve, so I'm gonna go ahead and say that the long sleeves are intended. rolleyes.gif

And yeah, I could get it tailored or whatever to slim it down, but I don't really think it's necessary. I wear a lot of slim-fitting clothing, but I'm trying to integrate a few pieces here and there that just kind of hang instead of clinging. Just because I have the body type for form-fitting clothing, it doesn't mean that all of my clothing should be form-fitting, y'know?

I also wonder how many thumbs up he'd get if he posted a pic in his underwear a la eason... there's always been a strange 'no homo' undercurrent to people talking about hist posts. but i digress..
also notwithit: i've never really liked your hair. you always have this pretty boy clark kent type of thing going on, but to me it never really works. you should buzz your hair.

What're you getting at here? mwink[1].gif

Re: the hair, I hand't really thought about buzzing it. Based on previous experience, I think I'd look a little too severe (skeletal?) with a buzz cut. Also, the hair hides some scar tissue on my forehead and scalp. If and when I start losing my hair, I'll probably end up cutting it pretty short, just maybe not buzz-cut short.
