Lotta good art in DC right now. Ai Wei Wei and Kruger at the Hirshhorn as well
I did get to the Lichtenstein. I thought I'd breeze through it 'cause I wasn't that interested, but by the second room (the one with the 3D radio) I was hooked. Seeing such a quantity of his work all at once and having it well explained at the same time made it click.
The Federal-era furniture in the West Building, the Kaufman collection, is also gorgeous. I don't remember what they called this thing and it serves no practical purpose but it was a big gorgeous stone surrounded by gold so I took a D/L phone pic
Missed the Hirshhorn stuff, but after I spent 20 minutes just sitting in the National Gallery East Building Tower just rapturous (happens every time I go in there, that room feels sacred when empty or close to it) I knew nothing else was going to compare.
hahah I laughed at the rowdy. my night got extra rowdy when I had to leave super early since I got food poisoning that punished me for the next 24 hours :(
