people have always posted lifestyle shit. maybe not in like 2007 when everyone was wearing regular ralphs and quick release belts with onitsuka tigers, but for the past few years definitely.
also tween: do you own warby parker frames? I really think the quality is much better than zenni optical shit. and OP is making stuff in italy now? for shame. i also have a pair of ndg-1 frames that i've never really worn that are MiJ and are from luxxotica OP. DITA has never impressed me.
Not to sound like a jerk, but it's definitely not my signature, even if I'm one of only a few guys who regularly posts on SF that does it. I definitely wasn't inspired by anything remotely Japanese, so not sure where you got that. It's typically just me wanting to add a bit more movement and color variation to what I was wearing, and it's an easy way to do both. The channeling of 90's grunge/slacker/vacationing mom will always be present though, and I think that's a good thing.
Oh I distinctly remember you posting Japanese lookbook pics (Kapital maybe or saquatch or nonnative or something more obscure) with dudes wrapping shirts around their waists then you started doing it in WAYWTs, either shortly before or after.
And I mean, name one other poster on here who does the shirt wrap with even some regularity? I guess for those reasons I assumed it was sort of a distinctive bit of style most closely associated with your posts here on SF, sorry if I was off base
