it's gonna be hard to find something like that, but you might find something on warby parker or a similar site. if you have health insurance that can cover, maybe mykita.

Look for the Gregory Peck model by Oliver Peoples.

OP is just as expensive. glasses prices are so fucking whack, no appreciable difference between $100 frames and $700 ones.

Dude OP is like half the price and can be had on ebay for $200

I've bought OP sunglasses direct for $350

not sure how persols are considered around here, but i have a pair and i love em. these are kinda similar, and can probably be found for anywhere from 129 to whatever full retail is, maybe 300 or so. they have other too, but nothing EXACTLY like what was in your link.

yeah, i guess that too, but it kinda goes along with the jacket. i think there is enough separation from the shirt and pants that it didnt strike me as a "shiny" look.

Idk man, there is a huge difference between even regular OP frames and the MP-2 ones (from the MIJ vintage line) that my sunglasses are.  Even the lenses are leagues ahead of the standard ones they put in their regular sunglasses.  The Thom Browne frames he posted are made by Dita and indeed are really nice, just not $700 nice (which is why I got the $500 OP instead of a similar TB model)  I looked at a LOT of sunglasses before settling on these and it's the same story we have with our clothes.  It's not just the materials and construction but certain attention to detail, but there are noticeable differences in all 3 between some $300 Luxotica manufactured thing and something mid-tier (500-800) we're discussing here.  Go even more extreme and compare these these to something like Warby Parker and you'll be blown away at the difference.

You're one of the first MCers to come here in a while with an actually positive approach, it seems like you're interested in what we do here which is cool. It takes a while to get accustomed to some of the styles here, but soon enough they'll have you inspired to branch out a bit yourself, you'll see biggrin.gif

why thanks. the likelihood of me going full on ninja SWD, is very minimal. there are occasions where i do go MC casual, and i think i might be able to learn some things from here, but i still maintain that MC casual and SWD are different animals with some over lap.

mostly, i dropped in by accident kind of, liked what i saw, and thought it would be a fun learning experience. i try to keep an open mind in general, so i figured id do the same here. we shall see what happens, BUT DONT TAKE AWAY MY NEAPOLITAN CLOTHING!!

What was most telling about that experimental thread that Fok created was the difference in mindset.

yes, gdl is pretty good at whatever he does (no homo). and a super nice guy to chill with to. yeah, i just SF name dropped.

also, parker is an excellent MC/SWD crossover guy as well.

Not to sound like a jerk, but it's definitely not my signature, even if I'm one of only a few guys who regularly posts on SF that does it. I definitely wasn't inspired by anything remotely Japanese, so not sure where you got that.  It's typically just me wanting to add a bit more movement and color variation to what I was wearing, and it's an easy way to do both.  The channeling of 90's grunge/slacker/vacationing mom will always be present though, and I think that's a good thing.

yes, flannel around waist = grunge slacker

or basically me from age 10 to 24

Definitely agree, and attention to detail is +++ important since this is something that I wear on my face every day. I've handled Warby Parker and it's really unsatisfying, imo, felt very cheap. On the other hand I've also handled some of the japanese hand-made shit, which is impeccable. May just have to get my proxy on and suck it up when it comes to price.
