Mr Moo has no clue, really!  Somebody should educate him.

My grandpa gave me a little when i was a wee kid but I dont really remember it well haha. You can get a headache from too much nicotine at once and they do use a full tobacco leaf so maybe that did it?

Also, I am happy I just don't smile for photos. Only real life biggrin.gif

Moo, these SFers are soft. That burger looks awesome. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Plus only old men and babies die from e.coli/salmonella. When I little I visited pakistan and I had one of the street vendor burgers. One day of bad diarrhea but I was fine the next day. I ain't no wuss. And I had more the next day. Was fine.

And if its got prion disease, cooking wont make a difference. Unless you cook it to ashes. Literal ashes.

Surgeon. I just cut things. smile.gif

I mean i don't know if you eat runny eggs but that leaves you exposed to salmonella. And chances are you do that everyday as opposed to a burger like moos which might just be a rare indulgence (see what i did there wink.gif

Or atleast I hope its not daily...

Go ahead, eat that disease infested food, you pussies!

Actually most ground beef carries e.coli. Considering there are strains that can kill you within a few hours of ingesting, I will pass on that shit. Benesyed, did you not learn about this shit in any Biology classes? Crazy you can become a surgeon and not know this basic stuff, I learned this shit in high school human bio.

It doesn't necessarily have much to do with the meat quality or cut. Ground beef is inherently more likely to be carrying more bacteria due to a) it's much higher surface area b) the fact that it has to be processed in machines to be ground up.

A little bit of pinkness in a pattie is fine. I wouldn't go rare with it though, that's just asking for trouble.

I just don't like to be in pain while I eat.

So when you say most you mean 10%. People die from e chili because they live in areas with poor access to care. If you loiter here you probably aren't in much danger. Go read the fda risk assessment. Most people exposed to the deadly h7 strain are asymptomatic. Like 18 people got it the year they did it.

Also, Teger, that is rude. Second year medical student. Biology major. We don't have to be mean even if we disagree smile.gif

You guys. Lol.

The only reason I am worked up is that people seem to sensationalize EVERYTHING these days. 18 people get sick in an outbreak. Out of the hundreds or thousands that were completely fine.

Like swine flu. Its mortality rate was comparable to the regular flu. Of the 50 cases that had it, only 2 of 6 deaths were healthy people. The rest were preggo, or had leukemia, or Hodgkin lymphoma.

My point is your ground beef will not likely make u you sick. You probably wont even get that sick if you do. And if you do get really sick, you wont die and will recover. Unless you are really old, or a kid.

well, i would say the real fear from swine flu, at least among educated people, was not what the risk h5n1 posed to the public, but what it represented in terms of the spread of novel flu strains and our inability to deal with them in a timely manner.
