I like your recent fits but either the pants or the stance always throws it off for me. We have the same build and I know it's hard to find slim jeans that look really good if you're not rail thin. I think everything would look better if you sagged your jeans. Or wear something with roomier top, slight drop, and a nice taper all the way down.

BTW. You look exactly like snowmanxl except for the skin shade laugh.gif

Going to a less tropical place. Hate to admit it, but sometimes you just have to wear black

Knit: Maison Martin Margiela SS10 I think, not sure. No picture can't do it justice, it also has this "M" shape on the back collar I tried to take a pic of but failed.
Bracelet: Luis Morais Glass & Gold
Trousers: Maison Martin Margiela SS09 Virgin Wool
Boots: Maison Martin Margiela Textured Leather

Edit: Knit is 100% Viscose for those who asked

I think that, for me, there are several factors that have been throwing your fits off, ben: Most of the jeans you've posted stack in way that reads "too much inseam" as opposed to "rad stax bro" - which, combined with the shiny fabrics (forgive me if it's simply a factor of the camera) tend to give the lower half a sloppy feeling. It's the bunching around the knees and shins, in particular, that make me think they're too long. In this case, combined with the textured shirt and shiny leather, there seem to be too many things going on at once.

Additionally, you're a very muscular guy - the high-gorge 3-button blazer did nothing for me, as it made you look a bit too schoolboy for your body type. I think the jeans you've posted fit well, aside from the length. Maybe try hacking a couple of inches off a pair and see how that looks? Additionally, you could try picking up some trousers from the thrift store and experimenting with a cropped style.

I think that you could have improved upon this particular look by selecting a couple of less "busy" items - feel free to wear black on black on black on black, but I don't think the (hooded?) shirt is working here, in color or texture.

Finally, there's something about your stance, or presentation, that I find a bit off-putting. The "jacket-hanging-off-the-shoulders-just-threw-it-on" thing isn't doing the sloppiness factor any favors, and I'm not sure if you're doing a nonchalant pose-thing on purpose, or if that's just how you're werking it erry day, but combined with the wrinkled shirt and the over-stacked pants, and the shiny fabrics, everything comes off as a little slovenly. It's obvious that you're a handsome, well-built dude, and I don't think you're doing yourself any favors with some of the pieces you've been showing, or with how you've been presenting them.

All that said, I think you're one of the friendliest guys to come around here in a while, and I'm glad you've stayed on as a full-time member of our little dungeon party.

Nicely put. Out of all the fits Benesyed posted I think I liked maybe 2. There's always something off about du's fits and I'm not eloquent enough to put them into words. Interested in seeing his evolution though.

I've had a sneaking suspicion that my hairline has begun to recede, but it may more so be a matter of my having a super big forehead (five-head) and a hypochondriac mentality

sometimes i find hairs growing directly out of my forehead a cm or so beneath my hairline and i worry about turning into the wolfman

First off, thanks on taking the time to dissect it and give me feedback and an additional thanks for the compliment.

I thought the jeans fit well but I will cuff them inwards and see how that effects the overall look and fit. Perhaps that will help and ill just have them tailored. The sheen on both the pants and leather is really camera exaggerated. That probably makes it busier. that not withstanding, even in the overly exaggerated pic I still like it. Doesn't mean it wouldnt be better with a simpler shirt smile.gif

As far as the jacket goes, cant help it. Got fat fat lats/traps, anything smooth with give will slide down. I see what you mean though. If the shirt was quieter then maybe it would work or if it was a l/s solid color tee. Ill mix it up for tomorrow and post it and see where that takes me with this fit

Oh as far as the "school boy fit" - I really liked that one, I think it was a nice, if slightly conservative yohji outfit. david on the yohji forum gave me some good advice on how to get more out of the pants, looking forward to playing around with that. I personally would like to transition away from my slim outfits but I don't have enough pieces to do so yet consistently.

Thanks again!
