Thanks for the advice conceptionist. I think that slouchy is the way to go, form fitting seems to just come across as garish frown.gif

I've been seeing a lot of stuff in the YY forum that I really like and I think would be a good move. Just looking for the pieces to invest in.

And agreed the t-shirt is too short. I usually pull it up on purpose so I have never noticed till that pic.

haha, yeah, the shoes are kinda funky, but I like 'em. the shape is similar to chuck without the toe cap.. the perforation and soft footbed are comfy in the warm weather.

coming soon jackets are pretty neat. this one has patch pocket notch lapel on one side, flap pocket peak lapel on the other. kooky.

edit for golden tribe: the laces are rounded and waxed.

The top is my favorite part of your fit. It's hardly short at all-- I'd pin the appearance of shortness more on the camera angle than anything else.

You could still benefit from standing in front of a plainer/less obtrusive space. Then it would be easier to figure out what's going on!

Yeah, the BH fit is tricky for me, since it's so far from the aesthetics I'm used to that I lack any sort of lens to evaluate it

Best part by far is the jeans. They fit great.

But the rest-- it's just, i don't know. The shirt is thoroughly dad, but whether it's dad in an earnest "uncool" sense or a meta fashion-boy post-ironic "updated classic with a modern twist" sense-- I just can't tell. It's like the intent isn't obvious, which some would praise as "authenticity," but it leaves me confused.

Vest could go either way. Right now it's pushing you further into dad territory. Like, let's go fishing and such. But wear a different shirt, and you could recontextualize the vest entirely, make it cool for lack of a better word.

So, try a shirt with a more structured/tidy collar for one. Like an OCBD. And the shirt needs to have more harmony in the pattern and buttons, so it seems like you chose the colors intentionally. There's promise here, I can feel it!

This rambling brought to you by bourbon and rye and a thoroughly confusing fit.

balmain alternative moto jeans came in. I sized down to 32 from 34 and it was a mistake. Sending back and I think I may go with a blue wash too.

But pretty legit alternative I think. and actually functional with the stretchy panels. Sorry for the shitty fotos but you get the idea. I can see some light sanding resulting in a more balmain-ish wash too

Just teasing; spending a bit too much time with geologists I think. Jeans fit well, but it all just looks like ski-dad daily wear. I could drive up to Summit County and see a million dudes wearing a plaid shirt, down vest, jeans, and chunky boots. A little too plain to be "heritage," I'd say. Just looks like...stuff.

Aww but I like the shirt; such great texture if you see it up close. perhaps untucked?

Isn't the vest a bit too shiny to be "dad"? At any rate, I appreciate the feedback. Perhaps a crisp solid color shirt would make the vest work?

Chunky boots? Those are 1000 miles! I shall never give them up.
