i like this comparison because we were both wearing the same thing basically (if you break it down)
button up and pants (i wore trousers and he wore chinos)

it just shows an infinite way to wear said items ranging from hagg to snow. pretty cool.
anyways to answer the question i think its just a preference. my pants arent extremely out of place or anti-fit by any standards, i think. rick/yohji/damir really push the limit in that realm.
i liked what i wore in my last fit because it felt good/comfy, had some interesting details, and the dirty painted sneakers broke up the cleanliness of the rest of the outfit. if i was to wear oxfords that would have been a whole new look and not really me.

In theory it makes road rash easier to treat but it mostly just makes your legs look good and says you're a semi serious or better cyclist.

cacatfish nailed it. anyone who shaves their legs is serious enough to know it has nothing to do with aerodynamics. it really does help with road rash though.
