In my city this outfit has a definite hipster vibe to it which I can't help but associate. Your choices could very well be simply a coincidence of styles, but the cynic in me can't justify it this way. I feel that an altered version of this outfit particularly with your awesome flare would have made this a lot better, though I will say that I do think the shoes are in the right direction on this regard.
How does that look hipster?

You're seriously comparing him to some ironic Melbourne hipster? Come on this is an awesome look, don't skank it up with some irrelevant association.

The denumz I'm wearing in that pic are Uniqlo T-000 raws, hardly some 21oz joints lol. They're pretty thin/ightweight, breathable and they've got stretch in them. Eason can tell you how thin Uniqlos are.

LK looks dapper as usual but I see where people are coming from. That's a very by-the-book-take-my-picture-sartorialist outfit. LK is much better in extravagant seventies suits and cowboy hats. More personality and originality. Anyone could look good in the above outfit, not so much with his other fits.

This is true. I have very flashy formalwear. Incidentally, I saw a Mexican gentleman on the street yesterday, wearing a Western suit with cowboy boots and a black cowboy hat. It was quite dashing.

The only WAYWT picture I have ever deemed worthy of saving is your cowboy hat, suit, goliaths and shearling coat picture.

The chubsters couldn't fit into the 17.5cm Diors.

I'd like the see a blog with photos of Melbourne hipsters if you think they bear any resemblance to LK.

The only "hipsters" who dress well are certain forms of NYC hipsters. SF hipsters are simply grungy.

I don't think it's irrelevant at all, if he looks so much like a certain kind of people around my way. Wouldn't you say two people dressing the same way have a relevance? But I agree that this doesn't make the look 'bad', simply that it looks less original to my eyes than his other outfits (which mind you I've always held to a very high regard).

The skinny jeans, glasses and shoes as well as the 'in' item of the duffle coat. Again I'm not saying LK is a hipster, just that this look is very reminiscent of the hipster kinds around my area. To be honest I don't think the word 'hipster' is entirely appropriate and I'm more inclined to say they are moreso 'trendy' and 'fashionable' in the cliche sense, as they don't look bad like one generally thinks of hipsters.

I haven't kept up to date with fashion blogs as of late, but I have thought about making my own actually if/when I get a decent camera, would be sure to post pics and you'd be able to see exactly what I mean.

I can understand that, but to me even though they are light weight they're still raw denim. I think it also has something to do with them being tight and not loose, and that boat shoes aren't the easiest things to pull off. A pair of lighter (colourwise) denim or sweats would work awesome with everything else in my opinion.

I'm not aware of anything that's easier to "pull off" than boat shoes.
