I do have a hard time though to understand why some people here who have a very specific and thought out style don't seem to translate that to their homes. If you dress in Ann D and CCP for instance, I would expect (or find it logical) for you to show the same attention and overall direction of style to your home. The reason you like said brand would probably be because you identify yourself with the the designer's vision and philosophy. To then live in a very "normal" home which shows no links to that style, confuses me.

Like I've said, if it's a question of not having enough money, I can totally understand it. Otherwise it actually feels like the clothing is some sort of dress up or costume, because clothes is just one part of the overall interest in design I think people here would have.

this is a bit tricky, but i agree to some extent.

for example, Ann-ish abode:

CCP would be absurd, you could never have guests over lest they think you're going to expose them to unspeakable horrors.

standard issue: uniqlo linen shirt-jac, anvil recycled plastic tee, dior raw black, chucks, zissou belt no viz

no need for a John Pawson or Álvaro Siza house to dress well, but I think interest in the broader world of style/art/design goes hand in hand with design-oriented clothing. still, many waywn pics can be improved by simply picking up dirty socks from floor. (or just going outside and finding simple backdrop).

yep those are the ones.

The good news is that if you wear this outfit, you get an extra piece of banana bread at the coffee shop. smile.gifinlove.gif

The bad news is that it is not TSA approved. The metal snaps in the pants set off the airport security thingy, so I was selected for "enhanced screening."

I knew I was in for it when I saw him putting on the latex gloves. "sir, I will now check your buttocks with the back of my hand." "sir, please take a wider stance for the groin and inner thigh search.'

uhoh.giffoo.gifffffuuuu.gifeek.gif

fucking horrible.

So, I will not be wearing dem fancy cargo pants to the airport anymore

This sounds a lot like an opinion being passed off as some irrefutable fact. The above assumes that the same things bring the same amount of pleasure/happiness to every person.

+1.  Basic economics.  Value is a subjective thing.
