Synth, I think you do something else with your hair.

It's cool and all and I'm sure you love it, but I would like to see you have a more sophisticated cut.

The spikey, standing-upright style you have now is something I mostly see on lost teenagers. It's way too styled and flashy in comparison to both your regular fits (sidezips, jeans, toj) and your more avant-garde (like this one).

I don't think you need to cut a lot of it off, only style it differently.

Have you thought about doing something more low-key, like the "fringe" look?

I get what you're saying, but I'm going to have to respectfully disagree. I've had side-parts before, but my head is gigantic, so that "fringe" look you posted is out. It also is never going to lay flat, so that's pretty much out. I run my hand through it constantly (nervous habit) and it is pretty much always messed up. "Styling" doesn't really work, it more just comes and goes. If I tried to pull it down over my forehead like that right now it would just stick out like a rhino horn, and I don't really like the feeling of it laying flat on my skin anyway. Usually it's somewhere along the line to pompadour. I also don't really want "low-key" hair. Where's the fun in that?

Steveoffice: it basically just sticks up. The hard part is getting it to stay down.

Well, sure, but isn't that the way it's supposed to be? Someone posts a picture, and we "discuss" it? I'd rather have people talking about clothes and answering questions like we have brains in our heads than posting cute little comments in the thumbs up box.

edit: which I also do, just sayin'

Haha, I knew it would be criticized.

I get what your saying and I predicted you wouldn't give your hair up.

The look I posted works better for younger or less aggressive styles, I guess.

Personally, I can't stand hair styles that are over the top and obviously styled or "cool", but I guess I'm in the minority. That fringe look is in like every lookbook and on every model on the runway now though, fwiw.

huh, i have a big head and hair that never stays down...maybe i should synthesize my hair.

what do you do when you get it cut? just get the sides/back trimmed and leave the top long?

It gets boring to give advice on jeans or to tell people their sweaters are too big/small. Synth posted something different, and it was really, really good, but didn't seem quite perfect (if it had been just right there wouldn't be a whole to say), which leads people to offer opinions on how to improve it. In any case, I think the strong reactions are a good thing, even if they're not 100% positive.

actually that dude has a point, your hair is great how it is, but you do consider yourself a poet. I would say that hairstyle would suit you for those types of looks. Well, actually both suit that fine.

Want me to come take a picture of you? We can trade hair and styling tips. I'll bring Cosmo, you supply the 'tinis!

I'm a terrible poet. One time I wrote a poem about rape and Tiresias. It was really bad.

It's true, I'm kind of like an albatross.
