Disregarding the pants, Moo's whole outfit is on a different level in terms of quality, fit and color coordination. Yet, Moo get trashed and that dude gets 30 likes. How?!
Edit: The fit on the right is barely passable, albeit very boring and not well put together. It's not a horrible fit on the jacket, but not more than a B-.

Bows looks cool and is nice. Moo looks like a boring old man -- but is, in actuality, a viciously angry young man.

Not Bows best fit by a long shot but our opinions of someone always change how we see them.

first of all, i hate that I'm posting about this at all. so, you know, fuck off all of you

I don't have anything against moo, and don't mind seeing MC looks in SWD or anything like that, but I don't really like Moo's fit, and don't find anything special about the bts you've pointed out here. Not digging the colors of anything, don't like the pattern on the jacket, don't like big ol' ties with spread collars etc etc, don't like full pants, blah blah blah - it's all browns and greys and conservative. No offense Moo, but it just looks like polish food to me. That said, dude looks way healthier than he did 4 months ago, so thumbs up to that.

Yeah, but he kind of is an old boring man, he has a child, ffs! And a wife (poor guy). Just kidding, Moo.

I find it pretty fascinating that you consider Bows' color palette boring. I lean exactly the opposite direction-- Moo's jacket brings together a palette of muted colors that, despite being well coordinated in a classical sense, muddies the visual interest of the ensemble as a whole. Bows' approach is more direct-- bam! black white n' grey. Like being punched in the face... in a good way.

Oh, and I agree on the fit of the jacket + shirt collar not being ideal, but as others have pointed out, it's the personality of the fit that makes it rise above Moo's.

lol. both moo and bows look fine for their respective contexts. I don't know why it has to be more than that. I think it's useful to discuss "proper" fit only to a point. A lot of designer clothes fuck with "classic" proportions on purpose. A dior (or whatever) jacket will never look like a brooks brothers jacket, it's not supposed to. If you don't like it, you don't have to wear it.

^ that is right.

At this point everyone is just picking on Moo and feel like they have authority to speak on the different outfits from aesthetic to cut to whatever else they can nitpick.

Kind of pointless and tiring.

I can understand Moo's frustration if it is genuine. Everything else is just noise

Nice white jeans Synthese

i have a different take, if I may :

there is certainly an element of who is posting.

there is also context : moo looks like he's coming/going to the office, standing on the porch and a partly-cloudy day in some suburb of SF, massive lapels with a conservative brown tie over a blue striped shirt. I like the jacket , personally, i think the pattern up close looks nice ( i would boil this jacket if it's wool devil.gif ), but i might be in the minority anyway. ignoring his pants, he still doesn't look comfortable. yeah, MC has this idea of mannequin pose to show details, I still think that's very unnatural. and i still feel like those pants could be belted under his chest they just look really high-rise even if not.

bows on the other hand, is a nice fellow with a reputation for posting interesting fits. this helps with the pre-judging already. then you have context, he's covering a show, looks like he's head of security, and is not in the process of imitating a robot. he's also got scruff. Bows has nice hair too. mind you, here it's not just the clothing details, but the picture it paints. because nobody cares for just small this-and-thats but an idea, fictitious or not, of who is on the other side of the lens. moo on the other hand has a past of just getting upset at some comments and taking it too far, insulting people and drawing further negative attention to himself. sorry to say it but it's true and automatically will skew people's views.

this is all rather closer to human nature

is that a 3 roll 2 ? tsk tsk , a mi no me gusta !!!

but that small detail aside , this is quite nice indeed bigstar[1].gif

edit: still out of thumbs up. fok , please not, shah post too mach, please consider extra thumbs for him

synth , it's really a personal quirk, i don't think there's a valid objective criticism to it, in fact, MC rules don't address it, GDL (master of the domain?) has possibly all or mostly 3r2 suiting. i think i should see what iammatt/itsstillmatt has done in that regard, or even manton/his book to see about rules and regulations, but those are not for following just suggestions for trad formal. i forgot where i was going with this. oh yeah, it's of course worth trying how else would you know if YOU like it or not -- experiment !!!

I know, I know. It feels weird to me too, but hey, worth trying right?

it's kind of a perfect argument for why swd and mc should be separate. no one here cares about looking proper, and no one there cares about looking cool...
(with minor exceptions)

I liked Moo's top half fit. Cool color combo and that SC is really interesting.

Or, we look cool in our own way, maybe. I actually wore something very similar to Moo's outfit on my valentine's day dinner. Except it was even more boring, as I just wore a gray flannel suit. I've had nothing but compliments on my outfit and no one, including myself, thought that I looked like an old man.

When I post in MC, I just try to show the clothes sans the lifestyle. I want feedback on the colors and the fit, and I can apply that to my life on my own.

I also ran out of thumbs (second time in 2 days) and I wanted to give you one, shah. Well, maybe later if I remember to.  smile.gif
