+1.

Side note: earlier, along these same lines, someone described Robert Ebert as having never made a movie. Incorrect. Ebert famously penned Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, a film that managed to be somehow agist, sexist, speciesist, homoerotic and homo- and trans-phobic all at once, while proving a movie actually could be over-encumbered by tits. Quite the feat for a fledgling young critic!

I asked this last week, but maybe it bears repeating: Why bother with SW&D, moo? You clearly don't care much for of the preferred looks here, nor do you seem to like most of the active members. If it's to stir shit up and get a rise out of people -- which honestly, appears to be the case for long stretches of time -- then your time could probably be better spent on other endeavors, such as your family. Going round to round with a bunch of people you clearly don't like on an online forum seems like a waste of time for someone who clearly has more important things to occupy his time with.

I really don't see how that's a straw man. I drew analogies to creative processes that are subjective in nature, when you said you personally dismiss the input of anyone that does not partake in the active display of this creative process you are.

Mr. Conceptual Forest, your analogy made your argument against my theory much easier to dismiss, while not keeping my argument and its respective counter-arguments intact; hence, straw man.

Your point is that one should be able to critique anyone, and I completely agree. One has the right.

However, the critic should not always be taken seriously, for reasons apropos of the situation. In this case, I am being critiqued by whom is likely a sockpuppet of someone else, whom I do not know to possess any clue as how to dress. He can critique me given these circumstances, but I do not - and will not - take his critique seriously. We've both made the aforementioned choices.

APK, if you notice, I simply post photos. The photos almost always have a negative impact on the other participants in this forum, and they usually let me know how they feel. I don't make fun of people; I don't talk shit first; I don't randomly shit on people's outfits. So, perhaps I am not the problem in this equation?

To acknowledge that it might have some merit and a basis for its reasoning? Lots of people who post fit pics spew noise that might feed into your self approval but is actually worthless, just as lots of people who don't are supremely knowledgeable and helpful.

I thought what you posted was fine, aside from the parts you pointed out yourself. You probably think I dress like an ass, but I share the same opinion as you here. Does that further validate you or does it get ignored? Does it get read as something constructive in that you realize other people are on the same page as you?

just said this toyou on other side where you stated everyone here was hi-5ing one another over hating your fit

either you're insecure or just trolling to intentionally misrepresent the situation at hand :
  • i dont think he looks that bad at all
  • 5 thumbs up (more than here so far)
    1. drmmr
    2. wogbog
    3. the shah
    4. thatguymj
    5. Rompson
"Probably the best fit I've ever seen from you. Pants are wide but in a cool 1940's way."
  • moo top half is great
  • lookin'g good, mr. moo.
  • nice ! i like this jacket
  • t's just not a SWD fit (and maybe Moo should have spoilered it, I don't know...), this particular outfit isn't bad at all, color palette is good and it fits fairly well (pants are a bit baggy, ok)

it's really down to your petulance and and overreaction to the non-positive commentary that just draws more attention to this aspect of your posting, it always has been and always will be about your attitude until you address that. your fits get the attention because some like it, some don't, and the rest know you'll have a meltdown with the slightest push of a button.

From MC :

"Moo, I think you would fare better in slimmer fitting pants"

shah, I wish there were a third, or even fourth forum where you could copy/paste your replies.

My reply in MC:

I have 9 positive thumbs up here. I am not sure how 5 is more than that.

The 5 positives are nice. Your are one of them, yet in other posts you make fun of the pants. So either you are trolling or just an ass. I am not sure yet.

I am trying to dress better - as I think others are - and the only way is to truly understand if someone is telling you the truth or just piling on/trolling/doing SWD things. So, yes, I did go the extra mile today to find out if the pants are truly horrible, as several SWD members have made clear they feel, or if SWD is just being SWD "haha, it's a moo fit, gotta talk some shit".
you can clearly see that you were told by people in both MC and SWD the pants are not great. That's what I told you here to begin with, they look like you have them roped up under your pecs because they just fade into the darkness of the jacket button. i commended you on glasses and the nice outerwear yet you focus on the negative. this is why i don't believe your intentions are genuine any longer. well this and the following :

I'm not sure if you're intentionally trying to be mocked, that's a bit too masochistic even for a young father. but i do think you enjoy the added attention that comes with hyper-antagonistic behavior, be it positive or negative, so long as the spot light falls on you. take that for what you will.
moving on to more relevant matters

the added length to the side of your hair and the restraint you've shown with lathering on the mango butter or whatever the hell it was you were dousing in there by the liter has done wonders. the return of the chinstrap, though in a much more refined and minimalist way. the monochromatic palette (or palate, rather, quite delicious) is fantastic, the starkly contrasting white popping out behind everything in all the right places.nice jacket, it looks to fit you (well i am very laid back about this aspect but anyway). 10/10

* i see that you've hidden your pants from me devil.gif

You've got me figured out.

MC says "the pants are OK, but they could be less baggy" and "they drape well".

SWD says "LOL, pants are AWFUL, burn them, you look like shit because of the pants".

So, if those are the same to you, then you are a strange person.

shah, you wear hopsacks and straddle large cacti (no homo), so when you tell me my pants look strange, I have a hard time knowing whether you're trolling or not. It is what it is. I don't see why me questioning the opinions of the almighty SWD denizens is causing you to get your woolen panties in a bunch.

And since we're doing the "quoting people" thing:

From MC:

I think they are slightly too full and slightly too short, but easily fixed obviously. The coat is fantastic.

I do not find the pants objectionable, Moo.

I think they're fine.

Tight does not necessarily = good fit. All depends on your build.

And as Black Umbrella said, they seem to flow well from the jacket. No unsightly breaks in the drape.

These pants are not too bad. Could the be narrower, maybe. The line from the jacket to the pants seems to flow nicely.

Moos pants are probably dictated by his build and not necessarily a conscious and aesthetic choice
