ok, but seriously, it doesnt help that I dress in a dark palette, but it was already in the high 70s this week here, and im scorching hot. I think most people that dont live somewhere awesome like Cali might think summer sucks at least for style conscious dudes because you can't even dress that interesting anymore cuz you gotta compensate for the humid ass heat. Like all this spring summer shit being posted is all bullshit for people like me cuz if I wear anything past maybe a t-shirt I'm balls deep in my own sweat for the rest of the day.

least when its freezing out I can look nicer with extra layers biggrin.gif

I lived in Brazil for a little while and remember there was this one goth kid I would see every so often. He was literally the only goth kid I saw there. It would be nearly 100F, high humidity, everyone dressed for the beach, the sky bright blue, tropical foliage everywhere, and then this miserable looking kid would walk by in all black, arms and legs covered. It's basically impossible to be goth in the tropics without looking silly.

One last story; Henry Rollins used to tell this one in his spoken-word act. His band played a big music festival, and one of the other acts was Marilyn Manson. The festival was during the day, I think in California, and it was bright and sunny. Marilyn Manson and co. come on stage looking pale and trying to look all evil, and they had this big smoke machine for atmosphere. But it was a windy day, and the smoke kept blowing right off the stage. They ended up just looking like a bunch of dead guys at a barbecue.

In Iraq, officials and human rights groups estimated that 58 young people identified as “emo” have been killed in recent weeks. An Iraqi police officer said police were urging clerics to help them prevent violence against “the emo or the vampires or Satan worshippers.” “The emo of today,” said a Kurdish lawmaker, “could be any person tomorrow.”

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
To Iraqis, "Emo" is widely synonymous with "gay." Not quite the same thing after all
