The WAYWT Discussion Thread - Page 4217

Hi SF, first time poster. Not really a waywt - I was excited to get my first TOJ1, but after wearing it around the house, it feels a little tight all over, especially in the sleeves. Figure it'd couldn't hurt to ask before making a decision. Will the leather stretch? Should I keep or jettison? Apologies for the iPhone pics. Thanks!

Nice to see a few good posts - this was getting boring.

Hate to re-post stuff, but I'd like some recommendations on a more drapey top to go with these pants/boots.  Nothing too daring. Help me out, guys?

It's actually just an ugly blazer, the lapels are 1980 low. He wears it as well as possible though.

Thanks for the suggestion - nice sweater.

And regarding fit critique... because you've blocked me, I assumed you don't like me, and wouldn't like my critique. shog[1].gif

But I can still give you a kick-ass critique, if you want. devil.gif

It is indeed very nice. Get a tote too for 30% off. Coincidentally a tote is $75... so basically get a free tote. It's mostly just your answers in the ask a quick question thread that I cringe at, the rest I find mildly amusing if nothing else. Anyways, up to you -- no need for me to continue cluttering this thread. And I hope you threw away/returned those shoes from yesterday.

Nice materials be damned, I'm sure he kind find a really mediocre looking sweater for a lot less cash. I know criticism of WvG products tend to be met with great vengeance and furious anger, so I'll just leave it at those knits resembling something you'd snatch off the racks at Macy's.

His shirting looks good - though I'm kind of over the whole "check out this plaid shirt" thing - but the other products, such as that hunting jacket, are definitely weak spots.

It's less Styleforum and more of a ripple effect. SF has, it seems, always been slightly ahead of the "trend". It was kind of weird going from being the only person with DB to seeing them everywhere on campus but luckily for me I had retired them by then.

Ah, where to begin?

First of all, this fit is uniquely nostalgic for me, as it reminds me of my childhood.  Blue shorts, like the ones you are wearing, were a part of the uniform at my muslim/catholic private elementary school in China.  There was a delicious Jewish dish that they served at lunch every day (with the sushi and Samuel Adams) that was the exact same color of the shorts; it was hard to serve, and the playboy bunny waitresses would often spill it on your lap and then have to scrub your pants clean... so, ya, memories.

I also like the shirt, as it looks like something my more preppy alter-ego would wear.

The shoes are ok, but I would really suggest that you go without any footwear to feel the wind between your toes.  Also, as my Buddhist training teaches me, mortifying your feet will give you larger chest muscles, and will reduce your body fat to 2%.

But my main criticism - and I really do like the whole fit overall - is your calves.  You need to wax them, because the hair interferes with the visual dynamic of the ensemble and draws the mind into a spiritual realm which is best left untouched by U.S. Citizens over the age of 35.

But like I said, I really do approve.  May the wind be ever at your backside, and may the stars shine on your toes, and may you keep posting for many moons!

He needs to wax his calves?? Are you on crack or something?
