Noobizor has demonstrated in his sub-100 posts that he has very strong opinions on a variety of fit and styling matters but has not yet revealed what exactly the basis is on which said opinions rest or if there's some sort of consistent perspective underlying them. I for one eagerly await such revelations.

Yeah, it's the proportions of the outfit and the cut of the jeans. I think the guy looks great. EDIT: Ar_Six, I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have. I'm not sure what 'basis' you're trying to uncover (like maybe my mother was killed by a super-villain in skinny jeans?). There is this weird attitude held by some here that a post count in the thousands means you shouldn't question their (often idiotic) opinions on...anything.

Ha. No. For the record I like the skinny jeans look -- on some people, with some outfits.

Hardly controversial. I'm not sure what anyone with less than 100 posts is supposed to 'exhibit'. Subservience? A lack of opinions? Hm.

Anywho, yeah. More interested in discussion than this kind of weird, trolly meta-discussion. Or the Hey, look at me, I got laid! posts or **** jokes^^ from people who aspire to be Eurotrash. But, uh, welcome to the interwebs, I guess.

Now what are you wearing?

Melonade's jeans do emphasize how skinny his legs are. However, he isn't trying to look as normal as possible; he's going for a skinny look. And then he can tuck his jeans into his common projects, which looks extremely dope in this instance. Viewed with the rest of the body, the legs definitely fit in. One of my super rudimentary definitions of well-dressed (and I have about a dozen, and they're all deeply flawed) is "does the dude look like the product of good character design?" Melonade absolutely does.

I only wonder whether you have some informed and legitimate perspective that leads you to dislike certain silhouettes (for example). It is unclear whether your responses are just knee-jerk reactions, which I frankly suspect. I disagree with Kunk on a ton of things he says but recognize that he has a very specific and informed perspective leading to his comments so I can accept them pursuant to the understanding that his perspective is not mine.

In any case this is a waywt thread so here is a boring fit.

I'm not credentialed from a school of fashion, no. (And might shudder to think what makes an opinion on style legitimate). But I think I disagree with you on principle: one should absolutely take into account their visceral, gut reaction, as they should reading any work of art.

And yet I give the gut reaction of any ignorant jackass off the street who walks into the moma, looks at a work and exclaims "that looks terrible" precisely zero weight, regardless of whether or not those views happen to align with those of the more enlightened critical observer. Likewise, in this circumstance.

You know, despite the obvious lawyer-speak

, you clearly aren't a moron; there's no need to sell yourself short by acting that way. I do think we could have a profitable discussion about this, maybe in another thread. (Of course, one only has to point to the buffoonish Iranian to dispel any myths of enlightenment).

Generally, they're not. It was the 'pursuant to' that gave you away.
