Feels like it's been that way for at least half a year but today's obviously pretty bad.

Yeah, weights are all pretty much the same. Also I don't know anyone who DOESN'T refer to their max squat in plates. Unless they can only do one or something. Just easier than thinking about exact weight for me.

I've said this before and I'll say it again you're unable to create your own style, only purchase head to toe looks from the same designer seasonally to mask your inability to step out and trust your own instincts. There's more style in Kix's shoe's and pant roll than your entire wardrobe homey

I totally mean this. It's the same thing I say about NY Fashion Week. Everyone asks "What was your favorite show, blah blah" and I simply say "None of them, NY is about clothes, not about fashion."
It's funny that in your eyes you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. If you wear one designer head to toe (which in my eyes is an homage to their artistry) you have no ability to create your own style and on the other hand if you wear 5 different designers you'd be a label whore. Well honestly dude, **** you and **** your ****** denim line. I'm helping run a $110 million men's business deciding what to sell to all the F***ers on this board, I think the fact that I actually work in the fashion industry and know damn well what I am doing and what I am looking at and what the clothes mean is lost on many people because it's easy to just say "Oh he is a fashion whore who just hides behind $ and labels."

aside from the extremely avante gard stuff like the heels, skirts and dress-like pieces that socal sometimes wears, id say he looks a million times cooler than kixslf. socal has swag. you can easily envision him waking up, pulling the yellow balmain jeans (that might have been partially hanging out of a drawer) onto himself, hopping in his boots, throwing on the grey hoodie, grabbing his wallet and phone from the bedside table which may or may not be littered with all sorts of parisian magazines, and heading out the door as he reaches for his leather jacket. kixslf is just over-engineering in front of the mirror....so much so that it starts to look ridiculous.

Slightly true, the only mirror I have in my house is my bathroom vanity mirror and I spend less than 5 min getting dressed to leave the house.

Yup. I was carrying a Barneys bag (Rick shoes and Ann d blazer) and eating my Yogurtland cookies & cream/chocolate with brownie bits and crushed oreos. I was too wasted to know what was going on.

Both socal and kix are able to pull off their outfits well in completely different manners. There's no "better" but rather just "different". I will say however, that socals fits seem more natural and less costumey compared to kix's, if that makes any sense.

Yah I typically get drunk party and enjoy the SA's that I shop with...and make fun of the SZ/SF type guys that come in. Honestly, they want you to buy **** from them and could give a rats ass about what you know about the line or the article of clothing etc.

Holy ****, 4 pages of arguing whether one aesthetic is better than another. I think we can all agree that both of these two people are well regarded by sf members who by definition have a good understanding of what constitutes a good fit, so any argument about either being **** is more likely a case of personal opinion than objective criticism.

This whole costume business is also wrong. If simply by the fact that we can differentiate ourselves from costume wearers by our interest in fashion and regular wear of our clothes. In so far as that by definition our clothes can't be costume so long as they are relevant within the context of our own lives/ourselves.

No hate to kixslf but I'd be far more inclined to party with SoCal. Dude looks like he's making the best of life

So a TB skirt or yellow balmain jeans are natural and not contrived and less costumey......

The clothes in and of themselves aren't costumey, it's the way that you wear them. SoCal wears them with the confidence that makes them just another part of a badass outfit. Most people would feel self-conscious wearing those Balmains and they'd look quite a bit shittier

They fit his (perceived) personality like a (bespoke) glove

Your tie is very work-y. Knit ties, skinny ties, and maybe something like a chambray/denim Hill Side tie would be far more casual and can be worn with an untucked shirt

2nd pic is a big improvement over the first. Coat improves from being buttoned and the cap/scarf ties it into a nice maritime package

You just hatin because he's a Sureño Also, mad respect to Socal for shutting down Kent Money without a word. Pretty sure most people who have hated on SoCal have helped pad his pockets Edit: it's awesome when you finish a post and have already forgotten what you wrote at the top lol

For the last time, most of us don't have a problem with Lanvins in general, just that particular blue/white pair sq4you likes to wear all the time. fwiw, he just posted another pair in Recent Purchases that I like a lot more: http://www.styleforum.net/showpost.p...&postcount=499

socal is legendary on certain forums
http://jawn.mikevitoroulis.net/viewtopic.php?id=7&p=3

i admit that his earlier efforts, combined with bad lighting, atrocious photography and awkward posing made him look like a clown, but his latest fits, the more fitted and tailored looks , i actually quite like
