Now, if you can say "more power to him" when he resembles absolutely nothing of the aesthetic that we generally share here, why deride robbie for doing the same on the other extreme?

This is a good point. Although, I suppose the difference is that Uncontrol tries and usually fails spectacularly (not hyperbole, spectacular is a good word to describe it, though pending possible DBSS-related win). Whereas Robbie just doesn't look like he's trying, and not in a nonchalant way. In other words, there is a difference between:

a) You look like you care about what you wear and have a particular, developed, thoroughly contemplated set of tastes... but they suck,
b) You look like you have no taste whatsoever and are just wearing clothes to cover your man parts.

And really the reason no one gives them that much **** on the regular in spite of these things is they're both pretty okay dudes, f****t comment notwithstanding.

Robbie, though I didn't spend big money (to me) on them, I have a pair of KMWs and 3sixteens that are both 1-3 sizes too big for me. I don't wear them because they don't fit me. Yes I feel bad that I spent money on something that no longer fits me, or was too big to begin with. But I rather wear some cheap Uniqlos and look good compared to wearing a really finely crafted item and being the only person knowing how good it is while it looks fairly off to everyone else. A lot of people say your jeans don't look good on you, but at least now we know the reason.

Reminds me, I've gotta sell these two pairs of jeans one of these days, still in great condition other than being hemmed.

ps hemming is like 5 bucks and chainstitching is horribly overrated

aw, the tie is my favorite part, just got it for my birthday. Evidently not working for everybody with this combo though...I'll keep trying. Thanks for the feedback.

ehh, I traded some vintage Levis to Paul-T (Pablo-T), in exchange for some 101-z's. As soon as they arrive they're going to be my daily drivers.

I learned how to chainstitch by hand, and I have 2 hours after work everyday in which I have to wait for my wife to finish work. I've mostly been reading, but I have toyed around with the idea of doing my own chainstitched hems for ***** and grins.

I have no clue what ROY denim is, someone enlighten me. The picture isn't good enough quality to see the details. But the fit is mediocre. I saw some dude wearing what looked like APC rescues who should have probably been wearing cures and it looked like a ******* joke, you could say his jeans were better than most people's quality wise, but they fit him like some baggy ass american eagle jeans so in reality he just wasted his money. I still think you should step up your game and stay within the "normal" aesthetic. It's very doable.

we've been over this a billion ******* times. if you want to look fashionable or stylish go buy at ******* h&m and uniqlo. sometimes ppl buy clothing for its quality, ie luxurious fabrics, detailed construction, brand names etc., not specifically to look stylish what the **** does it matter if he looks like a college bro. his **** feels nice on his skin to him, **** is maybe more durable, **** is better cut, and his **** has sf brand name. ie he doesnt have to look extremely stylish to justify his $$ spent

It's worth doing, I stitched up the hem by hand on my Sugarcane 1966s. Didn't take that long either, maybe 20-30 minutes. Spend an hour and it should turn out really nice and it feels good doing things yourself.

I do feel for you in the whole 'I have a nice thing and want to wear it even if it's too big' feeling because as you know by experience, KMWs are great quality, and I really liked my coated 3sixteens for how they were going to fade. Just they're both too big in the waist, which makes for a fucked up looking crotch

This. If you don't recognize We Were Dead... as pure genius, you don't deserve to have ears.
