thanks for the compliment and the suggestion, but it doesn't bother me if the regular collective portray me as such or the like. so no, i probably won't be toning down ****.
that aside, could you pls elaborate on the "clownish" description? do my shoes really come off as to bulky or long? i.e. clownish? i suppose that's your opinion. i didn't feel like wearing sneakers or more sleeker/low profile shoes such as repettos or even loafers (don't care for loafers) mainly because the rest of the ensemble's articles are more casual imo. i could have not gone with cuffs or lowered them, but it's summer so i figured why not? so basically, if i am following this right, the shoes should have been omitted/sub'd for an alternative or the pants lowered for you to love this, yes?
Your look is very casual/drapey on top to a casual semi-baggy bottom and then you have a break (your ankles) and immediately it's a hard, black pair of shoes. The shoes seem to be too heavy for the feel of the outfit. I don't think that sneakers would have fixed the issue and you're right that loafers are a bit too dressy for the ensemble.
Basically what I'm suggesting is that you do something to trim down the amount of ankle that you're showing. Like I said before, this can be done by uncuffing the pants or lowering them (which you also mentioned).
Now that I've thought a little about it, something lightweight similar to an espadrilles would work a lot better.
