ok so far you guys have told me these are the reasons why his fit got all the thumbs: #teamcasey and "other people have done it"

ik where casey started and yay he improved
but c'mon can we atleast try to rep outfits because of their overall quality instead of "oh but your fits are sucha drastic improvement from years past" or "yeah... figuratively it can work"

srs

while i agree with some of what you said, i do want to point out that you are coming off a bit too aggressive for a newb with 7 posts. In fact, it seems like you have been on SF before, is this a 2nd account for you?

Thanks man. The boots are Margiela, and the distressing is part of the actual design.

As far as the casey thing goes, I don't think it's worth it to scrutinize thumbs so much. Yeah they represent to an extent what people think, but it's not supposed to be some rigorous fit-crit scale. Plenty of times I just scroll through a thread and lazily add a thumb because I'm here to unwind. Every now and then I'll spend more than 5 seconds thinking about it, but either way thumbs aren't nearly as to the point as an actual comment is. If you're interested in preparing a thoughtful comment, I'm sure other users would be glad to get a better understanding of where you're coming from. Even if it's a negative criticism it sounds like you also had some ideas for how to rework what you didn't like. Let 'er rip dude.

I don't put much weight on anything except the fit looks good. I enjoy combining dinner shirts and jackets with jeans and sneakers or maybe a bibbed shirt. Casey here achieved a bit of how I would wear what he is wearing. He got my thumbs up simply because of the that

I can help you out man. My Gray boots are a similar shade and I took inspiration from these:

In my humble opinion cream, navy, white, burgundy, mustard, light/dark blue and especially other shades of gray go great with them. My quick examples:

Well, it's hard to wear a formal/structured blazer with jeans. I think it basically works here because :

a) The tuxedo jacket is made less formal. (It fits slimmer than usual, wouldn't mind it being a bit shorter come to think of it.)
b) The jeans are made a bit more formal . (Slimmer than most folks' jeans, there are stacks but they're not sloppy.)
c) All set off quite nicely by the choice in footwear, which is casual, but still sleek and smart.

I'm personally not big on the camo t-shirt, but that's just a matter of taste.

Does that help?

ok good luck, just fyi being harsh doesn't accomplish anything, makes you seem angry

Meh, as much as I understand that there's way more to thumbs here on sf than the fit being good, I'm kinda baffled as well about the 20 thumbs it currently has.

Also can't see how jipz is aggressive

So, some specific criticism:

Tee: Would like it with some pants in the same fabric as the jacket and dressier shoes

Jacket: It's alright, just don't think the other items work well enough to pull it off anywhere as good as for example fuuma

Jeans: They look alright in the pic, but iirc they are more blue in person, both the bleached part and spots here and there. Fairly sure I'd dislike in person
Boots: Cool, but don't think they work with any of the other pieces

thewho: those boots look really awesome :slayer:
