Why are people always complaining about using there cell phone to take self pictures. Spending a mere $150-$200 for a point and shoot will easily fix shitty cell phone pictures.

I have a dslr just seems like too much hassle, s4 has decent camera its just trying to take the pic myself in the mirror where theres shitty low lighting is what bothers me, dont see that changing much even if I use the dslr, what I need is a good timer app so I can use my phone without needing a mirror and therefore be able to do it somewhere else with better lighting.

i can only speak for myself, but being that the only use i would get from a decent camera is for fit pics, i cannot justify that purchase for myself to the tune of a couple hundred dollars.

and i do not blame my phone for quality issues with pics because i take them outdoors and i think it works great. its usually things like wind or the sun that makes my pics less than what i want from them.

When you take them outside like yourself they look great. I think many people are not comfortable with going outside an taking pictures of themselves though.

Get an Eye-Fi Mobi memory card for your camera, and you can upload high-quality pics via your mobile. I asked for one for Christmas... smile.gif

If you do take pics in the mirror, just make sure the lighting is from the front, NOT backlit.

It's not that difficult, get a light and put it between you and the mirror. Home depot sells these cheap aluminum reflectors with a clamp on them for about $5, they are handy for all sorts of things. Add light bulb and you're good to go (or at least better than you were).
