Think of your kids and how their lives would be impacted as a result of your smoking.

i think one of the saddest moments in my life was when my 6 year old son found out i smoke. he came over to me and said with tears in his eyes:

"daddy, i dont want you to die."

now every time i smoke i remember that and i hate myself.

When I find myself in times of trouble
Brother Teger comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let stitch be
And in my hour of darkness
He is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let stitch be
Let stitch be, let stitch be
Let stitch be, let stitch be
Whisper words of wisdom, let stitch be

And when the broken hearted SF members
Living in the Internets agree
There will be an answer, let stitch be
For though they may be parted
There is still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let stitch be
Let stitch be, let stitch be
Let stitch be, let stitch be
Yeah there will be an answer, let stitch be
Let stitch be, let stitch be
Let stitch be, let stitch be
Whisper words of wisdom, let stitch be

Let stitch be, let stitch be
Ah let stitch be, yeah let stitch be
Whisper words of wisdom, let stitch be
And when the forum is divided
There is still a lighter that shines on me
Smoke on until tomorrow, let stitch be
I wake up to the smell of cigarettes,
Brother Teger comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let stitch be
Yeah let stitch be, let stitch be
Let stitch be, yeah let stitch be
Oh there will be an answer, let stitch be
Let stitch be, let stitch be
Let stitch be, yeah let stitch be
Oh there will be an answer, let stitch be
Let stitch be, let stitch be
Ah let stitch be, yeah let stitch be
Whisper words of wisdom, let stitch be

My buddy's brother the smoker died last week of lung cancer, he had just turned 40. My Godson's mother died the same way 3 years ago at age 46. My dad is on on oxygen tank and can't walk across the living room without pausing to catch his breath. But whatever, small sample size. You gotta go somehow. No one get's out alive.

im sure stitches knows about the risks posed by smoking. he's not a retard. i don't think us talking about it in this thread is gonna convince him to do anything he wasn't going to do otherwise.

i don't give a fuck if you stay on topic (which should be clear by my high volume of 'off topic posts', whatever the fuck that means), i just don't love everyone marching in to lecture stitches about smoking as if he wasn't aware of the risk posed to his health.

the scariest thing about all this, is that i do not know of anyone who quit smoking based upon hearing things like this. i think because its removed and is not an instant consequence and many smokers dont end up like that, that makes it much harder to really internalize this message emotionally and not just intellectually.

either way, i appreciate you sharing that. the message is good one, whether or not it changes my actions, or anyone elses.

it's just a discussion man, smoke an herb or something. i don't remember you always being this angry about seemingly everything. what happened? mikey can at least claim SMS.
