Did you check out Saint Paul/Vence?
I think it is the Pisa.
Thanks. All photos taken with a point and shoot (no, really: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=965424&is=REG&A=details&Q=)

I can't say enough good things about this camera. inlove.gif

Agree. It was pretty quiet when we were in Eze. I hear it gets quite busy so I think we were lucky.

I take it you have edited those photos? I'm a photography noob (but want to learn) and find it hard to understand how such pics can come from a point and shoot!

Yup - we were there during "off-season" for tourists, so it wasn't too bad at all in terms of lines, lack of space, etc.

The photos have been edited lightly in Lightroom and/or Photoshop (just basic color/contrast correction, that type of thing). The camera I used, the Ricoh GR, is not an ordinary point and shoot. It has a fantastic 28mm 2.8 fixed lens (so you zoom with your feet), coupled with a great, strong, lightweight body and fantastic handling (buttons, customizations, etc.). It's my favorite camera that I have ever used, and that is saying a lot, as I have used many cameras, from full frame DSLRs to Leica and everything in between.

Nice pics/fits moo! You have any more pics of some of the small villages you visited? I really want to see some the next time I visit France

BTW, I received so many nasty looks from Parisians and even people in the South for my sneakers... I felt shame everywhere. But the sneakers saved my life (just unbelievably comfortable, without a single warm spot over seemingly 100s of miles of walking). biggrin.gif

You mean you didn't just hover across the countryside clad in a bespoke suit + pocket square + St. Crispins?

Super ugly running shoes are the only viable option for walking comfort? C'mon man. All these years on SF... Where's your pride?

Yes I do... will post when I have some more time to edit.

My list of "gotta see" villages in the South:

Eze le Village (the one in the mountains, not the "other" Eze)
Saint Paul de Vence
Cagnes sur Mer
Villefranche sur Mer
Saint Jean Cap Ferrat

Dude... if you knew my feets. I wore Aldens on a couple of days and evenings (you can see them in the Monaco fit pic), but when you're walking 5-10+ miles/day, hiking, etc. nothing beats broken in old sneakers. redface.gif

I would if I had someone to hold my crappy iphone, and that's the only mirror in the house, the lighting is so yellow I look like a Jersey Shore extra if I don't take the pic when there's daylight

Mr. Moo, great shots. I was just recently in Paris on vacation. It was nice, but I enjoyed south of France much much more.
