The WAYWT Discussion Thread - Page 6821

[quote name="barrettdudley" url="/t/164384/the-waywt-discussion-thread/102300#post_6637774"]kstyle, unless you come with something that looks like kgfan's fits, nobody's going to dig your shit.  it needs to be either drapey and slightly gothic or really boxy and Japanese/American heritage shit like Visvim or EG.  Stitches gets a pass because he's so far on the other end of the spectrum, but even guys who have great style like SVB and elisix get ripped apart for "wearing brown sneakers" or "having on a braided belt."  You'll need thick skin if you're going to post fits that don't fall in line with the current style du jour around these parts.

For what it's worth, I like the suit, and I think it fits fine.  They are right about the tie knot though, and you'll get a somewhat better response if you drop one or two of the affectations.

I hate to break it to you, but there is no 'big lie'. there is no 'system'. the universe is indifferent.

I wonder which category this falls under? Must be a new trend anti-goth-drapey-heritage trend?

I think it falls squarely in arts category of looking good. Best category to fall in imo.

But looking good is subjective, especially in regard to style (as opposed to fit).  If you heed Stitches advice, and you go read the last ten or twenty pages of this thread, it should be very clear to you what kind of looks currently get the most praise.  I'm not saying that there isn't a variety to be found, just that you can see what the vocal majority usually finds appealing.

No it isn't.

Also if you think only certain kinds of looks get praise then you're the one that needs to go back and read twenty pages.

Not trying to start an argument or flame war man.  There's no skin off my back.  Just trying to help out kstyle.
