you could direct the same criticism to someone like mellowfellow. not everyone wants to be fashion forward. some people just want to be well dressed or stylish (in a non-controversial way), or for their clothes to reflect a certain aspect of their identity. there's nothing wrong with someone iterating on/ refining/ honing their particular aesthetic, even if it is just "jeans/ tshirt/ boots" or "button down shirt/ shorts".

it's not about being fashion forward, he just needs a bit more of an edge to his fits or he'll get real bored. Doesn't have to be much, just a hint of badass.

it's not much of a branch out. Your fits are fine, if you're happy doing what you're doing now, by all means continue.

You will get very bored with it though. I'm in the process of exploring some things right now. I'll post some mind blowing fits soon, maybe you can see how i'm trying to change it up.

Uncontrol much as the jeans fit well I can't say I've ever seen H&M denim that didn't look soulless and feel limp. Probably better off taking the measurements and finding something good that matches.

On the way to work, another monday, this one after the weekend that was... interested to see where I went and what I did. Pretty bland fit.

The "women give me compliments" justification really doesn't fly around here as we're all pretty much aware that the vast majority of people of both genders have no ******* clue what they're talking about. Those things are loud and would require some Labelking-level superpowers to pull off (since apparently Jeffrey is the guy we're all giving props to this week). I have a pair of pants with a similar stripe pattern but in much more conservative colours (ie less contrast) and they're tough to wear. Unc is right: burn them.

definitely, everone gets compliments for anything which is different.

People see crazy pants, they grab attention so they feel like they have to mention them. They're not gonna say "disgusting pants", so they say "nice pants" instead.

Pretty much. I have a pair of plaid levi's that i feel about the same way as blue square's does about his pants. I like them and people say they like them but the colour of the plaid and skinnyness means they never look quite right. They look like pajamas, too!
