Thanks, Chrono. I was borrowing my gf's camera and I didn't want to spend all day finding a place to prop it+good angle+light so I just went with the top-down. Some day I will actually get a decent camera of my own.

here's a tip: don't pose like a douche do it like baconzilla. neutral stance, full body shot, never post a pic only wearing socks (shoes can make or break an entire outfit) if you want to learn how to dress better, lurk moar! look how other members are dressing and single out the ones you like most and try to find out what makes the fit look good. try to emulate that, never copy! that's just lame and makes you look dumb because you're just basically showing how uncreative you are. oh and solving your fit problem might be a bit difficult, if you want that styleforum approved fit you will probably have to take some of the clothes you own to a tailor. also for the love of god stay away from printed on details, like on that black shirt. what you want to aim for is getting some solid basics into your wardrobe, like solid colors (black white blue for starters) no patterns like stripes or flower/tribal detailing (blech). it really depends on what you want to go for in the end, you want to do some preppy thing (mellowfellow) or try more of an americana steez (aeglus) just to name 2 of the many options you have (but which i think might suit you quite well)

First time posting a fit pic. Considering I am a professional photographer you would think I would be able to get a better photo than this but hey, what can you do.

6'2", 165 lbs, 8% body fat. T-shirt size is medium, but I generally have trouble finding long-sleeved stuff that fits, due to rather broad shoulders. I got some help from a store guy once and we settled on XL slim-fit for a few button-down shirts. Pretty sure those look good on me; I'll post them sometime soon.

I have lots of American Apparel Ts, none white, none V-neck... lol. Those jeans were Levi 501. I do need to get good shoes; thanks for the specifics on those (Listi too). And yeah, I guess I need to replace that jacket, so thanks for the pointers there.

Couple quick suggestions... I'm 6'4, 170lbs so have similar issues with length.

1. You might try the American Apparel 50/50 poly-cotton blend T's, they fit slimmer and a little longer than their standard crew neck. A medium fits me great, whereas in most T's a medium is not long enough.

2. Agree with suggestions to try Levi's 514/511. These are inexpensive and widely available; for your body type you want a "slim straight" cut on jeans (stay away from "relaxed" or "straight"). Distressing is definitely not SF-approved.

3. Spend time lurking through this thread and also the WAYWT thread in the MC section. Find which of the regular posters you identify with style-wise and pay attention to how their clothes fit. This has helped me tremendously with learning how clothes should fit.

Just browse around for a while and try things out. Then your brain will be wired to groupthink for a time period. Then after a while you break free from groupthink and you kop funner stuff that is still awesome.

. I think I may sell a great deal of my shirts so that I may purchase some new outerwear, as all I wear 98% of the time are polos and t-shirts

@scott.m: Thanks

@mellowfellow: Thanks a lot. Your leather fits actually convinced me to get a more relaxed jacket instead of the skin tight leather I was originally planning to get.
