So wait, you can't wear a J. Crew button-down and white jeans because something comparable was in their look book? The whole idea of a look book is to sell the consumer on the brand's offerings from the upcoming season. The footwear between him and the guy in the look book is different, as are the jeans.

And are you guys serious about the sleeve roll? I've done that with all my button-down shirts for years, but not because I saw it in a J. Crew look book.

Nitpicking just to nitpick.

I'm not knit-crazy like a sector of the posters here, but this manages to look functional and substantial without resembling the suit of armor chunky grandma knits that some here fawn over.

Kixslf you're looking a little taller and leaner. Natural cuff + short jacket looks good.

I'm actually quite sorry I started all this, and will probably leave it at this.

Vagueness with a side of authenticity. Also, if I were to succeed in either of the two above tasks, I'd probably be totally fine with SF's more fashion forward wing thinking I was wearing something gauche.

Ah yes, I forgot abuse as a potential response. Thank you for reminding me.

And Zissou: it's not that you dress originally, it's that you dress extremely well. A much more difficult act to master, and far more important in the long run.

Uh, no it isn't...

If you're okay with wearing anything so long as it impresses the plebes, you're on the wrong website. Regulars here have pretty much the opposite perspective.
