I know almost no one smokes straight latakia, but Pirate Kake, by Cornell and Diehl, is I think 70% Latakia and probably my favorite pipe tobacco.

Sorry son, there's no right or wrong when it comes to personal opinions. My negative views on cigars are shared with a lot of people and I speak as a past cigar smoker. When I started seeing classless people smoking cigars I started first removing the tag of my cigars then I finally stopped completely.

If you're already accustomed to smoking cigars in public, I wouldn't worry about looking like a true jackass - you've passed that point already

Pipes are nice. My grandfather gave me a couple of his Dunhills some years back. I smoke a bowl occasionally, but I find that it ruins my palate for cigars which I prefer more.
