My fiance and I are getting married this fall and we're planning out honeymoon. What are some recommendations from the lovers out here? We're looking for something fairly exotic where we can mix up beach/relaxing with some mild-to-moderate adventurous activities (hiking, fishing, etc).

Continent does not matter, although ideally we'd go someplace where its warm around November. Good food is a huge plus!

We went to Barcelona. It was awesome. Tons to do in town; day trips out of town abound. I bet you could even go fishing somewhere.

We went to Anguilla due to time constraints. If we had more time top on the list would have been Mauritius, maybe Bora Bora.

We spent a week in Martinique and a week in St. Lucia on our honeymoon. Weather was great (it was May, but I imagine November in the Caribbean is about the same), food was great (we ate at the resorts for most meals though).

Somebody above posted Barcelona... It's a great place, lot's of history and lot's of great food but it can get a bit cooler in November (not like Detroit cool in November, but not prime beach weather either). But, Spain in general is great... that's where I was trying to convince my wife to go for our honeymoon.

I've been to Thailand as well and there's another place with great food and awesome beaches and it would be warm in November as well.

My fiance and I are also getting married this fall. Some relaxing, some mild adventure, and good food is exactly what we have in mind too. We have been looking into a trip to Tahiti and New Zealand. There are a few airlines which allow multi-day layovers in Tahiti on the way to New Zealand. It's basically on the way, so the additional travel time is minimal. We would like to spend a few days on the beach and then do a self-driving tour of the south island of NZ, where there is plenty of opportunity for all kinds of fun adventurous activities. It's my understanding that the food in Tahiti is not great, but the food in NZ is supposed to be wonderful.

We will be married on the west coast, so travel is easier than from the east. Another concern is time. Touring New Zealand is very time consuming, and we can't take an excessive amount of time off. We may have to drop the Tahiti portion and focus on NZ. However, there are plenty of great beaches and other relaxing locations, like lakes, mountains, and spas in NZ that could fill our relaxing quotient.

A really good idea for the adventurous. The safari I did in Tanzania remains my favorite trip. It could actually be pretty relaxing at times.

I also don't think that people realize how unbelievable the beaches are on the Indian Ocean coast.

Little Dix Bay in the BVI offers most of what you are looking for and is popular with honeymooners but I would not enjoy hearing my bride telling her friends she spent her honeymoon there. They need to change the name.

10 Days in Kauai and loved it. The only downside to Kauai is a lack of true luxury hotels. I would reccomend a guest house or cottage.
