So, I was very lucky to have picked up an absolutely stunning pair of testoni blue/tan suede loafers at off 5th today for $87, marked down from $575. They are rubber soled, and thus excellent for a casual walking shoe. They were a half size below what I normally wear, 8.5, but I wasn't wearing socks today, so when I tried them on, they were a tiny bit loose. However, I figured that once I put on socks, they would fit snugly. This is mostly true, except that they slip a little on my heel. If I went down a half size, the shoes would be too small- my question is, would it be utterly awful if I put some Dr. Scholls heel liners in the shoes? They have adhesive, and thus would permanent- however, I am not looking to ever sell them or return them. They would also prevent blisters should I decide to go sockless. Is it a ridiculous idea to try to modify in any way a pair of shoes like these?
